Strawberry black olive ice cream? Those two flavors do not belong together. Although I can't fault them for trying to do savory ice cream. I would go more for flavors traditionally paired with dairy, like a cheddar potato ice cream with crumbled bacon on top, or chicken corn chowder.

If it tastes like the black olives that come in a can, i.e. essentially flavorless but with a bitter unpleasant aftertaste, then I agree.  If it's oil cured black olive, they might be onto something.  Olive oil ice cream is supposedly pretty good, and salted caramel is popular, so a salty, briny, oil flavored ice cream could conceivably work.  Plus, a lot of flavors change considerably when they're chilled.

I'd try a scoop if I saw it.

Nothing can be as weird as Dolly Madison's favorite flavor of ice cream: Oyster.

FTA Wikipearl ice cream doesn't require plastic packaging because it is contained in edible skin.

Sounds like someone doesn't understand the reason food comes wrapped in plastic.

Here's to hoping that in the future Humphry Slocombe will prove that we can eat only ice cream and still hit all the major food groups.

Are you being served?

I guess you could save on interior wrapping, but the concept isn't exactly new...

Mochi balls ftw.

I had cheddar one time. It was fantastic with sliced pear.

I remember dippin dots. I was around 7 when I first got them. I would eat them with just flicking out my tongue which I would call eating "frog style". Then that turned into "froggy style". Years later, I finally figured out why my dad would cackle like a madman whenever I said that.

At "The Stinking Rose" in SF (a restaurant that specializes in garlic dishes), I tried the garlic ice cream.  Not sure if there were additional flavors, but I thought it was pretty damn good.

Then again, I'm a garlic freak.

Plus, she works in the yogurt industry. She'll pack on the weight trying to develop "My Boyfriends Back" flavor. Not to be confused with "My Boyfriend's Back" flavor.

Yeah, they do. Strawberries and tomatoes are generally interchangeable flavor-wise, and tomatoes and black olives are great.

I recently discovered that cheap frozen yogurt is just as tasty as cheap ice cream and a lot easier to scoop so it's my ice cream of the future.

Olive oil ice cream sounds like it would be really good -- it would go great with cordial or compote or reduced fruit of any manner.

And salted caramel is super tasty i agree -- one of the classic ways to eat a really good balsamic vinegar or a really reduced fruit vinaigrette is drizzled ontop of nice vanilla ice cream.

And dippin dots are farking boss.
\I want to try making some butter flavoured ice cream (no idea how to pull that off) and mix in chunks of waffles and a swirl of maple syrup...
\\Prolly easier to make maple and swirl in butter but damnit me an my wife LOVE butter. We even slice it paper thin and eat it on its own with a dusting of salt... omg i sound ssssoooooo fat.

Foodpairing. It's expensive, but even the free version is awesome. And the price for the pro version has actually come way down from what it was.
