Vodka, which I drink out of a glass and so it looks like a glass of water. It doesn't really add to the aesthetic.

I find that when feasting on an asshole, a nice Riesling sets off the asshole's delicate tannins.  However, a freshly cleaned asshole can pair nicely with an austere, stately Gewurztraminer, whose dark spices can accent the aroma and bouquet of asshole.

in sum, have a nice variety of wines for eating ass.

A screwdriver goes well with most things, so long as you swap the vodka for goldschlager and the orange juice for grenadine.

I usually just drink merlot with whatever. If I'm at a nice restaurant I'll let the waiter tell me which wine I should have with the meal.

My grandmother always had a huge glass of water next to her at all times. When I was older, my mother told me it was actually vodka.
I had just thought gramma-jean slurred and stumbled cause she was old.

Yep!  I know Chris* (the chef) as well as the owner of the place that sells him wine.  That wine place pretty much bought out the entire stock from most of the Southeast US!  (The rose only comes out once per year.)

Coke and evaporated milk

When eating pizza or anything with lots of fat, I will drink a nice, red wine, hoping that it will combat the fat content.

Ok, a bit tangential, but related to food and drinks so here's a shot... Is there any semi-decent boxed wine for cooking with? Was thinking it would be an economical way to get a good amount to have around for cooking while also preventing it from getting over-oxygenated in between meals.

Hopefully not a thread jack, but it came up recently.

In this photo from EPCOT's La Hacienda de San Angel Inn...the designers didn't take into account that you probably shouldn't served refried beans in dishes that resemble toilet bowls.

Not enough beer pairings in here. I'm partial to a pilzner or a similar lager with spicy foods, rich and malty with fried foods and many sausage dishes, and hoppy with a burger or most grilled foods.

A negroni or martini before dinner (kir if I'm in a French place) and whiskey after.
