(Huffington Post)   You remember when everybody freaked the fark out because the CEO of A&F admitted that he only wanted attractive, skinny, popular people wearing his clothes? Yeah the uber-hippies at Lululemon have the same corporate strategy   (huffingtonpost.com) divider line 168

Yes, the "uber-hippies" at the place that sells $250 exercise shirts and whose founder is an insane Randian objectivist.

2013-08-01 01:41:55 PM
Just as long as they keep making questionable yoga pants.

So say we all
Seriously folks if you evenhave to stop to think about if you should be wearing yoga pants in public for even a moment then the answer is don't.

I feel like conservatives have just given up on using words based on their definitions altogether.  Every word used as an insult is a synonym now... "That pizza place is Muslim; all their food tastes like George Soros."

Do their products actually qualify as clothing?

/the same question could be asked of A&F

Do a lot of fat people do yoga?  And if so, do they stay fat?

For a company selling see-through pants, this is a good thing.

Being a bunch of slow stretching exercises, probably not much weight loss.

Well I think the difference is they just didnt come out and say it like the douche at A&F.

Why not just cut the crap and have naked yoga?

/I'm sure that's already a thing somewhere.

The two times I have been there I was impressed how they had cast such a diverse group of body sizes. All the young women were unbelievably healthy looking and perky.

Of course you have to be out of your mind to buy $70 spandex pants.

I dunno.  I took an intermediate yoga class once, and that takes a lot of muscle control.  I was exhausted after and my muscles hurt for days.  Some of that stuff is rough.

Yoga?  Hippies?

My septugenarian father is more aware of modern trends than subby, and I'm assuming subby is young because only young followers use uber.

So are we gonna outfit a bunch of homeless guys in yoga pants? I don't know if my stomach can handle that.

Yoga pants should not be made in large sizes.  I don't go around in a skin-tight t-shirt emphasizing my keg and I'd appreciate the same courtesy from large women.

I hate fatties, too.

Most people do. They just don't want to admit it.

Remember how disgusted you were the last time some lardass scarfed down her dinner at a table next to yours in a restaurant?

Or that obese man... a disgusting man who could barely stand up; a man who if you saw him on the street, you'd point him out to your friends so that they could join you in mocking him; a man, who if you saw him while you were eating, you wouldn't be able to finish your meal.

Well I just learned AF is still in business and that something called Lululemon exists.  Still sounds like people are spending WAY too much on clothes.

2013-08-01 02:52:10 PM
Thank you jebus.

Anyhow, I've lost so much weight I'm going to have to go to different stores to shop.  Just bought a pair of 31/30 jeans at BR.  Their smallest is 30/30.

2013-08-01 02:52:17 PM
Why was/is this a shock to anyone? We're talking about the fashion industry, here. Surprise, they want attractive people and the kinds of folks who run clothing companies are shallow dicks.

I don't think conservatives are really the ones who typically would use "Randian objectivist" in a derogatory manner. And that pizza place was more Chris Hayesian.

2013-08-01 02:52:47 PM
At least they are trying to sell the $250 items. Right? They aren't just using them to make $50 house generic items that should be $15 sell, like DXL does.

Grannies doing yoga in barely-there pants is a horrifying thing to behold. Don't ask me how I know this, just don't.

/off to cry by myself now

Fun thread,,, but yeah, i never had a problem with what the guy said... Every product on earth has a target demographic.

A fat person crying about it would be like a Hell's Angels dude crying that the My Little Pony toyline doesn't feature a biker pony.

1) Lululemon has the right to sell whatever they want (as does Abercrombie)
2) There are plus size athletic providers today (including brands like Reebok and Nike)
3) If you are concerned there is not enough product options, start your own clothing line catering to the demographic
4) Quit biatching about everything not going the way you want it to
5) If you want ot wear Lululemon (or Abercronbie) lose weight - it really is not hard (CSB, I'm 37 and just went from a size 38-32 over the course of 5 months because I started working out and ate better - mostly while seeing a chiropractor and receiving treatment for knee issues) - there are no excuses - if you are fat you did it (and continue to do it) to yourself (unless you are under the age of 15 - if that is the case your parents should be jailed)
