6 minute video? No thanks.

When I drove a junker I'd go out of my way to park next to idiots who did that.  I now have a new car, so I don't dare do something like that.

Good move. I had a friend that went ballistic on a guy once who did that. Had to replace his truck door because he smashed and smashed and smashed it again the car next to his until his door was so warped he couldn't close it at all.

My only question with this video is how stupid must one be to spend 5+ minutes NOT going in through the passenger side door? I would have done that within 5 seconds..

Had someone actually park behind me in a shopping mall lot once. But they left their car unlocked and it had a manual transmission. Put it in neutral, pushed it into the aisle... and I drove away.

2013-07-31 03:48:44 PM
I had someone park like that next to me yesterday. I was already parked, and they still parked at an angle taking up space in two spots, leaving me with about 4 inches of room.

I kept my patience, and did not beat the hell out of their car.

2013-07-31 03:49:45 PM
If you want to do what the guy in the video did, but are worried about damages to your car, just snap a picture of both cars and make sure you can read their license plate. That way if they try anything funny (like xynix's friend) you'll know exactly how to find them.

He looked like he was waiting to meet this person who parked so close to his precious, like they would simply arrive because he willed it, or they had just parked there for a minute or two.  He has a deep sense of self entitlement.

Is this a troll? It seems like a nice succint troll.  I'll bite.

I don't think they got worked up about it, they simply parked correctly in the next spot and decided to record and laugh at the outcome.  When I see someone has done something which indicates that the person has zero respect for the people of his/her community, I have no qualms about returning the disrespect shown.

Park down town Chicago in random garages a couple times a week, the small spaces, the over sized cars / trucks, and what I have to assume are blind drivers, means I deal with this at least once a month. Makes me nuts

Yes, bad parking. But those guys with the truck/video were major douches ( I assume they had the truck ). They didn't have to block him in.

Figures there would be one of Those Guys in this thread.  (I expect several.)  The guy next to him (presumably the guy taking the video) is parked perfectly in between the lines.  Nothing wrong with that.  The only bad parker, and the only douchebag in this video, is the small-penised balding guy with the Jag.

It's not up to me to leave enough space for someone to get into their car, if they're parked badly.

I drive a POS and I park in a deck with super narrow spaces and there's plenty of them, but I still will open my door and check to make sure I'm in the lines before I consider myself parked, so I understand where you're coming from.

But if there's plenty of spaces and the person taking up multiple spaces parks far enough out in the lot (or doesn't take the prime spaces near the elevator), then there's really no inconvenience to anyone, and hence no disrespect to society at large.  A minor door ding can cost a lot to get repaired on an expensive car. If the person that dings your nice car isn't good enough to leave a note, then you're screwed. Like I said, its not a sufficient reason to inconvenience others, but if its not inconveniencing anyone then its an easy, socially neutral way to cut down the risk of incurring that cost.

No no no. A Jag-yoo-ahr driver simply does not climb across the center console like some Porsche-driving barbarian.

Except that parking lots tend to fill up. Meaning that someone has to park elsewhere. It's also the elitist attitude of the person. I used to want to take a tire iron to the back of my foster brother's head when he did it. Nothing says "I'm a prick" like taking up two spots.

Depends on circumstances.

If this was a one time offense, their response was major douchebaggery.

If he has been parking like this for weeks or months, and has been ignoring gentle hints and reminders and/or has been acting like a total tool (as the video seems to imply), then this is nothing more than poetic justice. If the truck had been right on the line and/or over it, it might still have been douchey. But the perfect parking job, so that it was the Jaguar itself that caused the problem, is a perfect hint.

I'm not agreeing with what they did (yes, they were assholes).  I'm making a base assumption that this was a recurring event and that it was disrespectful to the local society.  With those assumptions, I could see taking a stand of some sort.  The best/first route I would have taken would be to speak directly to him and ask him to park correctly.  His response would have then set the course for my next action (hopefully it's resolved there).

I think we're pretty much on the same page.

/Worst I've ever done is use a grease pencil on someone's window to make some idle threat.  And this was for a recurring d-bag.  At Target/Home Depot, I just let it ride, man.

FAAAAAAAKE

2013-07-31 05:53:57 PM
The stupid thing is that with the way that the space was set up, there was no reason for the Jag driver to park like that.  If he's alone, and if he's backing into the spot anyway, he could have simply moved his car over about another 2-3 feet to the left and put the passenger side door right by the curb.  That would have left plenty of space on the driver's side to avoid any dings.

She got a ticket. She just threw it aside like it was her third one that week.I told the Officer sorry about wasting your time.He said the last time he wrote a ticket like this it was at Steve Marriucci house.

The thing that gets me the most is.... WHY GOD??
You have a nice car... i get it.  Take the extra-wide spot with only one neighbor.  So far so good. But, why that spot-- the one with a driver's door (more likely to open) next to your car?  OK... whatever, extra large spot-- shouldn't be a problem, plenty of space.  But parking it backwards?  As far to the right as you can get?   WTF is wrong with you!!??!

/Satisfying video.  A+.  Would watch again
//But it won't happen again, I bet.

But look at how far away the stores are, and look at all the empty spaces nearby. If there are closer available spaces, then who the fark cares if you take up two, as long as you're the only person inconvenienced? Busybody jackoffs, that's who.

Seems like karmachamelion has serious anger issues. All I said was no reason to be a dick because someone happened to park a little wrong so the truck guys felt they had to go out of their way to be dicks. Which they did -- so much so, they planned to video it.

Ogre and the rest, you are all missing my point. It really has nothing to do with the parking per se ( I did say the guy did a bad parking job ). It's about overreacting in such a planned, plotted-out way to something quite minor.

According to the article, this particular person ALWAYS parked like that and it was bugging the entire office (I'm guessing they had limited parking available).  He was probably some high up marketing asshole.  They tend to be self entitled douche-nuggets.  So yes, they did plan it out a bit.  The entire point was to teach him a lesson.  The follow up was the next day the guy parked perfectly.

Having fun with a douche is considered a public service and should be encouraged, like picking up trash in a public park.

What they did was a public service to others he'd have no problem inconveniencing elsewhere. They taught him a lesson which seemed to have sunk in by the next day: Don't be a self-centered prick and violate accepted communal behaviors developed to fairly share resources.

I'll have to take a picture tomorrow of about a dozen or so parking spots at the carpool site taken up by some retard who parks his semi and trailer there for days on end.

\and yes, some people have boxed him in before just because he's a dick
\\is it just me, or does Zhagyouahr guy look like he's about to cry when he sits in his passenger seat about halfway through?
