Averaging 120 yards per game for five straight years, with no missed games in there? That seems like a tall order given that he only averaged 130 last year.

I'd love to see this. Just not against my Hawks.

Regardless...Walter will always be the best IMHO.

That and he'll be on the wrong side of 30 in just two years.

That will either be the date he's no longer on an active roster or the day his body gives out, not the day he breaks Emmit's record.

18 game seasons

This!

And, good on ya, AP, if you do this. Emmitt snuck into the record books with a 2.3 average while playing for the Cardinals. The ONLY reason he was still playing was to break this record, and he was a has been by then.

Good luck.  I'm sure it will be fun to watch.  Now will Manning eclipse Favre's TD total?

Probably not until the next CBA and Peterson will be gone by then.

Well, if Peterson somehow manages to run for two thousand yards every year for the next five consecutive seasons, which is what he's predicting, I'd say Walter will have some competition at that point.  (Not that I'm holding my breath.)

As much as I am a HUGE Vikes fan and a fan of All Day. With the violent way he runs and his disregard for of personal injury I give him 2 more years in the league before he is no longer able to play. Sad prediction for me to make but a man cant abuse his body that way and play 10 seasons in the NFL. My closest approximation to the way he runs... Bo Jackson

The man is a machine for sure. I'm very impressed with how he's come back as strong or stronger than before the injury.  I think if he can lower the fumbles he will be on Walters heals.

I agree with this, too. Had Barry played for another 2-3 years, he would have cracked 20,000 yards. Emmitt had a great offensive line, Barry had none.

I remember that Nike Commercial about Barry where they say: "For his stunning athleticism... And breathtaking speed... for achieving what no one thought possible, we congratulate (some linebacker) for tackling Barry Sanders..." and it was a shoestring tackle. My google-fu failed me for finding it.

David Ortiz: whoever fails a test should be banned for life.
David Ortiz after testing positive: I don't know how that happened. Ill find out and let you guys know.

He was most likely on HGH to recover from the injury. He likely had a valid prescription, too. It's easy to rally for it when they aren't testing for it

Bo had a freak injury to end his career. It could have happened to anyone.

I highly recommend the 30 for 30 documentary about him. Probably the greatest natural athlete of all time.

I saw the 30 for 30 it was great, and that is exactly the point I am making Bo and AD run the same way with utter reckless abandon for their bodies. AD will succumb to injury before his 10th season. Its sad for me to say that as a Vikings fan but I feel its true.

Barry Sanders' yards per carry on a weekly basis:

While I commend your psychic skills in predicting the rule change, I don't see in that thread anywhere that you name a player who was hurt by Adrian Peterson head ram, as requested.

I do see however, where you outted yourself as a Viking hater. (Not sure if Packer of Bear fan, hopefully not Lions...)

The year Barry broke 2,000 yards (and had to share an MVP with Brett Farking FaRvRe), he had -20 yards going into game 3. He effectively broke the 2,000 yard mark in 14 games and started 20 yards in the hole, to boot!

Here's something. While the guy wasn't hurt for any real length of time, he was hurt enough to be forced off the field.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/68021-lions-vikings-game-must-be- re viewed-by-nfl-officials

But, on another note, here's an article showing just how often Peterson lowers his head, or at least how often he does it where it would be considered a penalty.

http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/content/nfl-crown-rule-will-it- de throne-rushing-king-adrian-peterson/21935/

Looks like he just has a bad reputation, more than anything.

HST's Dead Carcass: Emmitt snuck into the record books with a 2.3 average while playing for the Cardinals. The ONLY reason he was still playing was to break this record, and he was a has been by then.

Snuck? Snuck?

He "snuck" into the record book playing for the Cowboys against Seattle on October 22, 2002. He rushed for 975 yards that year, and averaged 3.8 yards per carry (for comparison, Walter Payton averaged 3.7 yards per carry his final year). And he "snuck" in by 1,629 yards, or 9.74% of Payton's total career yardage.

Congratulations on getting your password right, because everything else in your post was wrong.

Well, I'll be damned. You're absolutely right. Huh. I guess I remembered the situation totally wrong. I know his last 2 years were with the Cardinals and were a waste. He was already washed up by then.
