But how is she going to see where she's going, especially in that little attic where she fights for women's rights?

/did I cover them all?

I'm going to go with the "I'd hit it" meme.  She's fairly pulchritudinous.

Certainly more than the original Amelia Bedelia ended up:

I'll go out there today and ask her if Helen Keller will be going along.

Great.  Now I can't get Don Felder out of my head.

I wonder how many people recognize the Lockheed Electra in that scene and put 2 and 2 together?

Amelia's been promising this for about as long as I've lived in Colorado - 10 years or so.  I'm pretty sure there was a corresponding Fark headline back in the day, but I can't seem to find it.

/5 y/o repeat

I was too hepped up on nyborg to notice.

SO if she does crash and vanish this will be one of the greatest believe it or not type stories ever to hit fark.

We could repeat the same headline, except saying "This IS a repeat of 1937."

She has decided to retrace the flight of her famous namesake.

Well, I hope she plans to deviate at least a little from the original flight path.

Nobody asked yet? Really.

Anyway, the answer is yes.

That's pretty cool. All FarkSnark aside, I hope it goes well for her, that was one story where nobody came across as an asshole. The girl is good looking, she seems really cool and really fun, and she seems to know what she's doing. Good for her.

Me? I'm gonna sit around an comment on stories on Fark, that's the way that I roll when it's time to get productive...

She's one of the 2 hotties on local news, so she'd better keep her ass safe.

2013-07-31 10:59:51 AM
She's going to wind up in the Delta Quadrant?

2013-07-31 11:01:03 AM
May she have the same luck.

2013-07-31 11:02:13 AM
OK, isn't naming your daughter Amelia Earhart kind of like naming your son Jeeves? You've kinda pigeonholed them into a career real early on, be it flyer or butler.

2013-07-31 11:04:07 AM
She is related to the ORiginal and like some one else said. this is announced every year.

Yeah, but she wasn't instrument rated until recently I believe.

Will she be spying on the Japanese also?

Maybe add pontoons to the plane.

Yeah, especially the part about being a private pilot for only a couple of years.  Yikes!

As long as she stays clear of any Japanese Imperial territory, I think she'll do just fine.

Maybe. >_>

Maybe she can keep the original's remains company on Gardner Island.

She'll do it in a Pilatus PC-12 NG, a versatile-reliable turbine-powered aircraft. It's far more sophisticated than that flown by her famous namesake.

I've seen Amelia on 9News since she got here and I like her.  I'm interested in following how things go as she follows her distant Aunt's dream.  She's been working on this for a long time.
