The IT Crowd star wants to use crowdfunding site indiegogo to raise the cash, so he can create the huge flying gonads to raise awareness about testicular cancer.

Does anyone else get stabby when they hear that phrase? I'm pretty sure most people are already aware it exists.

It depends on the context. Testicular cancer isn't exactly a widely discussed disease and I don't know the major symptoms off the top of my head nor do I know what I'm supposed to be doing to ensure I don't have it. I'll bet that's true of most people. So in this context, it doesn't bother me.

The pink ribbon shiat where they're "raising awareness" for one of the most widely known cancers in the Western world by plastering it on EVERY FARKING THING THEY CAN FIND?

Yea, that irritates me. I can only be so aware of a thing and I think that threshold was passed many years ago on the breast cancer front...

/ plus it's giant floating balls, so that helps

If it actually does some good, then I'm all for it. Balloon rides in the Wond'rous Scrotastic Flying Machine, for example, could raise funds for the cause. If you're doing dumb sh*t like posting your bra color on Facebook and thinking that somehow helps breast cancer victims instead of actually  raising money, then yeah, stabby it is.

/The term I prefer for this phenomenon is "slacktivism"

^This. I had a testicular cancer scare a few years ago when I had a pain in my left testicle and noticed a lump coming off of the side. I was scared farking shiatless about it until the sonogram came back and showed it was just a cyst. Doctor told me it shouldn't be painful, but it most certainly was. The pain was unpleasant, but cancer would have been far worse.

Old Man Winter: Is this a Dr Who spoiler thread?

"Just wonderful!  The TARDIS Cameleon circuits have unstuck themselves and gotten stuck again in a different form!  I wonder what we look like now?"

Later . . .

"Great, I thought a big blue police box was a bit on the noticeable side before, but this!?!?!?!"

From today, dialling 999 won't get you the Doctor. And that's not the only thing that's changing. Nicer TARDIS, faster response times and better-looking Companions mean they're not just "the" Doctor - they're "your" Doctor! So, remember the new number:

0118 999 881 999 119 725... 3
