I'd rather we fully address the scourge of their/there/they're, using apostrophes to represent the plural, then/than, and the one that REALLY gets under my skin, people typing "could of" when they mean "could've".

Like spelling, grammar rules, punctuation evolves with use. People have found that the standard period doesn't prove them the full pause they wish to convey.

They could use a paragraph change to convey the pause.

But in the world of txt messaging... ellipses make more sense.
