Throughout their lives, they'd both struggled with their weight. That is hard enough for anyone who leads a typical life.

I find it hard to believe that weight "struggles" are enough to make two women feel like they were kindred spirits. You could pick any two women at random in the U.S. and have what I'd guess to be about a 99% chance that they would say they've struggled with their weight, even if they've been the same weight since high school.

"OMG, you're human?  I'm human too!"  - this accounts for almost every human friendship forged :)

She was pretty cute when she was chubby, too.

Cuter, I'd say. The thin look doesn't work for her IMO.

I have to agree. She looks more pleasing to the touch before the weight loss.

She lost her luggage? That's what you get for flying United...

She wasn't fat!  Her body was fantastic before, too.

If she'd lost 45 pounds I'd say she was in the right place.  She may have had to shed a little extra to trim her face down to where she wanted it though.

Raging Whore Moans: She wasn't fat!  Her body was fantastic before, too.

What you meant to say was, "Her body was nothing special before"

DAYUM, she let herself go. Oh, that was the before pic. Nevermind

She is sick of the pain caused in America by use of the word "skinny." Davuluri is aware of the impossible body image too many girls equate with "beauty contests," and she knows about clinical associations between eating disorders and childhood pageants.

So she worked really hard to become skinny and create the impossible body image girls equate with pageants? She truly is a hero.

I wonder if she would consent to compete in the Mrs. Mock26 Competition?

How is it impossible if all she did was change her diet and exercise?

It is definitely impossible if you eat junk food and never exercise, unless you're a genetic outlier.

I would struggle with her weight, if you know what I mean.

So which kind of fat person was she? Born to be fat? Or was she skinny before, then became fat, and then skinny again?

The phrase 'impossible body image' came from the article. Obviously it is not literally impossible, but it is extremely difficult for most to achieve and maintain.

I'm thinking he meant nearly-impossible ... seeing as she did it.  What this really means, as in what this means for my little nieces who are both head over heels for the princess image, is that unless they both pick up their mother's genes and skip my brother's stunted(he's short) genes, they will have their hearts dashed to pieces if they ever try to get into the pageant circle.  Just like 99% of the other girls who try to get into the biz.

I, for one, do not care.  I like the before picture just as much as the after.

For some it is literally impossible. I don't mean skinny, which could be extremely difficult to achieve and maintain, but pageant winning body image. Some people just aren't pretty at any size.

True enough.  You can be fat and pretty, but if you're ugly as sin, no amount of body work is gonna get you to "Acceptable"

At least you admit it, most Fark chubby chasers come out of the woodwork every chubby thread to claim that skinny women are ugly. There's someone for everyone, move on and let 'em be.
