When the Republicans found out Carter was for green energy, they made it a platform policy to oppose it. This, in turn, undercut green energy development.

Just keep him out of politics and everything's copacetic.

I get the impression that he was just too "nice" of a guy for politics.  Always seemed to mean well, and I certainly applaud and commend his humanitarian efforts, but he just didn't seem cut out to be a politician.  Still, I have great respect for the man.
