That's a start, but you must remember that ovaries are not kept together in a little sack like balls are so the probe requires some dexterity, and I will require tactile investigations once a week and visual once a month.

I have met some folks who, if they come up with a cure for testicular cancer before breast or ovarian cancer, will seriously go apeshiat. Some people have seriously misplaced priorities and misplaced senses of how medical research works.

If I recall correctly, yes.  After they denutted him they slapped him around with transplatin to make sure they killed off any cancer that may have spread.

It treats the boobie and egg sack cancer as well, feminists can put their torches away for a little while longer.

To answer a question above, I was told the small remote chance of getting testicular cancer was independent for each of the boys, so just getting it in one was no indication that you'd be going through the same little hell down the road.

As a survivor of testicular cancer, this was one of my treatment options my oncologist discussed with me.  He actually proposed a 'cocktail' of three different drugs called B-E-P (Bleomycin, Etoposide, and Cisplatin) and then an RPLND.  A RPLND is basically where they remove almost every lymph node in your body.  It is very, very painful, and around 40% of people who have an RPLND can never get it up again or ever have an orgasm again since many of your lymph nodes are wrapped around nerves.   My original oncologist, due to the make up of my tumor gave me roughly 6-12 months to live due to the advanced nature and make up of my tumors, along with some of my tumor marker levels.  I then had him refer me to one of the top nut-cancer docs in the country who basically confirmed my thought that the oncologist I was seeing locally was on crack.

One thing which is scary is that two of the best testicular cancer docs in the country have either retired, or they are getting closer to retirement - One, Dr. Richardson @ Mayo has already retired, and Dr. Einhorn at Indiana is also getting up there and close to retirement.  There is a fear among some of us that since both of them have been such tireless supporters of testicular cancer and it's research it may partially fall by the wayside, and we may slip back from some of the many gains we have gotten in the last 20 years.

It is sad that most of the money people focus in on is breast cancer.  Even the local ACS groups - I've been tempted to get involved in some Relay-For-Life things, but after talking to people, it's all about breast cancer.  For a guy, having your nuts chopped off is just as bad as having breast cancer.  All seriousness - imagine getting into bed with some hot farkette, and then she realized you only have one nut down there.  It's embarrassing.  You feel like less of a man.  I've talked to a few fellow testicular cancer survivors, and many of us feel the same way - it's like a bit of us is getting chopped off, and we're less than a man.  We're not whole, and we're reminded of it multiple times a day.  Every time we put on underwear, every time we take a leak, and every time we try to get laid.  It's a mental thing, and it takes a while to get over.   It's not just breast cancer, and I wish the local ACS chapter would think about that.  Sure, draw up on bras and decorate them everywhere.  What about other types of cancer?

For those interested, my tumor was made up of the following:

Immature Teratoma - 40%, Seminoma - 30%, Embryonal Carcinoma - 20%, Yolk Sac Tumor - 10%

I was lucky - I went to the right oncologist who determined I shouldn't need an RPLND or massive amounts of chemo - two years later I'm still cancer free.

So yes, I am a one-nut wonder, or Uni-Ball as friends call me.  But, I'd much rather be a one-nut wonder than dead.
