FirstNationalBastard: Theeeyyy can't aaaa-fooord it.... cause they are on the weeeell-fare.
ReapTheChaos: The fact that for the price of 1 ice cream bar bought from a truck you can buy a whole box from the grocer has always been enough incentive for me to not waste money on them.
cman: There's an economic crisis?Last time I checked we were in a recovery
miss diminutive: [cdn.twentytwowords.com image 634x655]Maybe the economy isn't the issue at all...
RickN99: Well, if this one guy is having problems selling ice cream during a heat wave, then it must be a worldwide problem due to an economic crisis. Not because his van has roaches or he screams at the kids or his hands are filthy or his product is too damn expensive or...
No. I still buy ice cream, just not from an overpriced, sketchy pedo-bear looking thing.
Besides, around here Mexicans (not racist, a fact) ride around on bicycles selling paletas
LordOfThePings: [upload.wikimedia.org image 150x150]I blame Dave's Syndrome.
patiodragon: The little snowflakes are inside in the air conditioning playing videos games. duh.
limeyfellow: patiodragon: The little snowflakes are inside in the air conditioning playing videos games. duh. This is the UK, so we have no air conditioning. Means it gets hot with temperatures in the 90s and a heat index well over a 100 day after day. Especially when you are used to much colder temperatures.
listernine: Stop me when I'm passing by.

Sneakytoes: CSS:I drove an ice cream truck for three weeks one summer in south St. Petersburg. I was instructed by the boss lady to concentrate on the "ghetto" areas, because the people there were more likely to spend whatever cash they happened to have. Not saying that I support her repugnant philosophy, but I cleaned up on welfare check day.
Ima4nic8or: Nobody has given up ice cream. They just don't like paying 5x the price to get it from a truck. It doesn't help that all the ice cream trucks in my area look barely a step above that "free candy" van and are driven by what appear to be members of al queda. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against the arabs but if someone is going to work in a job where they interact with the public it might be a good idea to try to look presentable, like by maybe, I dunno, shaving off the 3ft long beard and wearing something more than a bathrobe.
