I know syndicators love talk shows because, in relative terms, they cost almost nothing to produce and every decade or so you get an Oprah or an Ellen that catches on and ensures weekly shipments of underage prostitutes packed in cocaine, but it certainly seems that the talent pool needs chlorination.

Meghan McCain, Kim Kardashian's mom, some "Real Housewife" -- if Tara Reid decided to give it a go not only would she top the fame-meter, she'd have the most credibility for shows about drug abuse, bad plastic surgery and how to introduce one's self to everyone the morning after a gang bang.

""I came to Pivot because I think there has to be some sort of middle ground between the Kardashians and C-SPAN," McCain said."

That's quite an unusual demographic you're trying to give to the advertisers. Does either program get high ratings compared to others?

Pivot, Participant Media's new cable network targeting millennials, The New Greatest Generation, will launch August 1, 2013.

Yes, because if you want to reach people 15-34, the way to do that is to start a cable television network.

So, you've met Tara Reid?  Would you mind giving me an introduction?  How exactly do I get an invite to one of her gang bangs?

Did Millenials collectively do something super-awesome that I missed?  Or is this one of those "Everyone gets a trophy!" sort of things?

/Pretty sure the Depression/WWII generation didn't come up with that label for themselves, and in any case it didn't get used until 50 years afterward.

It's all chubby girl glamour shots and lots of makeup. I feel in some way that that's cheating. however, male beauty isn't subject to the same standards and criticisms so who cares anyway who likes what and why.

However, watch her on Maher and see how vapid she is (or was. Don't know now). But she was/is young so whatevs. However if you get your own show you should have a grasp of issues. But then again ahe is a republican so that doesn't apply.

My first exposure to her was on Rachel Maddow's show, which I only experience as an audio podcast. I thought she was a good person to speak up and start moving things in her side of the American political spectrum towards a center, kinda likeable and willing to move on certain issues.

I hope her show does okay, and I hope that her, and the generation of her age and younger, can help steer the world's superpower to a safer ground.

(Also, she's hot, as farkers have now informed me.)

She usually comes across as well meaning, but inexperienced, and quite naive about the heart of darkness in the Republican Party. She does NOT like the big push against women's control of their own bodies; she's no Phylis Schafly.

Which would mean she has access to plenty of Belgian Beers. Hoegaarden and Leffe Blonde for example. Bass full-flavored English ale is a fine anheuser-busch product also.

I can agree with this and the comment upthread about her on Real Time/Bill Maher.  She did very well with Maddow (I think they attended a Gun show or NRA thing) but when she was on Maher, she was very nervous and it came across in her voice/posture.   She is trying to use social media to get her message/platform/career out there, but slips now and then. Give her more experience in media, and I think she will do okay with hostile interviews and trolls of the internet.

The bigger problem for her is the uphill battle she (and young republicans are facing).  On social issues she is very progressive/liberal...pro-gay marriage, pro-smoking pot, okay with secularism, etc.  On non-social issues, she is very republican/conservative: pro-gun, pro-small government, etc.

The GOP will want to use her to attract socially liberal/fiscally conservative types, but won't give her a seat at the table and may push her out of the party.  The question will be how much will she tolerate of her own party's refusal to evolve on some issues (and how much will the party tolerate her).  Once her father leaves politics, she may be shocked at the treatment she will get.  The kid gloves will come off from her own party.

Something is wrong with 5'1"? Your statement makes no sense, you're either saying "Sure, she's cute, but being 5'1" isn't really helping her out here.", or you're saying "Of COURSE she's cute, she's 5'1" after all...".

So which is it are you bashing her because she's too short, or are you bashing her because her height is skewing the whole "cute" thing unfairly?

Yup. Brooks reminds us all on a regular basis, sometimes several times in an article, that he is a registered Republican, and as a "Republican" the Republican party should just give in to Democrats and do whatever Democrats want.

His job is to be a Token Republican in a liberal Democrat media outlet telling Democrats that Republicans are wrong with the authority of pretending to be a Republican.
