Damn. I practically grew up listening to his show.

I haven't listened to him in a few years but he seemed like a pretty decent guy.  His wis work with sick kids will greatly be missed.  RIP Kidd.

why would he be mourning?

This is a damn shame, he and his DJ crew were one of the best in Dallas.

Temba, his arms wide.

Very sad and shocking.

I listened since way back at The Eagle. Kid Kraddick in the morning show wasn't necessarily a format I enjoyed... Mostly because of the top 40 stuff. Anyway, I did flip to hear him in the mornings while my regular stories were on commercial break. His energy was contagious.

So last week he was talking about recently winging off of adderol. He was saying he took it since a kid (began as riddalin). He had taken the meds most of his life. Initial reports are speculating a brain aneurysm. I'm really not trying to start controversy or a rumor, but could there be connection to the meds and a brain aneurysm? I know I spelled the meds incorrectly. That's the first thought that popped in my mind when I heard the news last night. I guess we'll know more in the days to come.

RIP Kidd

This "dead air" brought to you by Mitchells Mortuary, purveyors of the vertical grave. Why take things lying down when you can stand up and be counted!

Now Russ Martin doesn't have to worry about anyone stealing his schtick.

Stopped listening to Kidd when I was 15 and realized that crap like Spears, Aguilera, N-Sync, and the BSB were the 'future' of pop... Slutty girls talking about wanting bad boys and 'bad boys' wanting the sluts*.  I dunno how Kidd could stand the music, or if he even listened to the junk he was pushing out on the airwaves.

*Not that this is new to music, but older artists at least showed some linguistical skill and covered it up with metaphor and allegory.

Not that old.  And there's no Country Kitchen Buffets within a tank of gas around me.  No, I'm up at 5AM to go to work, and on my days off, I'm never up before noon.

Yup. One for his own charity, Kidd's Kids.

More about that here.

Brain aneurysm apparently... wow.  He will be missed.  I listened to the show off and on, but I always respected the work he did for sick kids.  Such a loss :(

I remember back when Eagle played Top 40 before changing formats.  Kidd seemed like a douche then also.  Russ's show is going to be pretty interesting tomorrow.

Children were not given Ritalin back when he was in school.
Ritalin and Adderall are both amphetamines.

Having listened to Kidd and Russ Martin on 97.1 the Eagle in the 80's and beyond i always preferred Russ.

Kidd always came off as douchy and needy IMO.
I realize that Kidd did some admirable charity work but him and his morning crew just made me want to barf.

Russ was actually funny, and most of his show's antics were only possible because of his standing and reputation for taking refuge in audacity.  He often accused Kidd of recycling his bits, sometimes only a few days afterwards.  Of course, there's no way to really know if Kidd was the one copying the content, or if some intern or even manager was feeding the ideas to Kidd after making sure Russ didn't get chewed out by the FCC.

The man did do a lot for charities, but so does Russ.  Kidd helped kids, Russ helps animal shelters and police/fire/military. (He'll also unabashedly admit there are douchebag cops that have no good reason to be on the force.)

Off topic, Is Kidd's red-head cohost still three-beer ugly?

Never liked his morning show.  I was a LaBella and Rody fan.  But he was better than others.

Lex and Terry used to accuse him of stealing bits when they were on in Dallas.

Russ Martin and Kidd Kraddick both stole stuff from Fark.  I heard headlines, comments, and even one of my own brilliant comments quoted directly, without any attribution or credit to Fark.  Or me.  That's cool.

This is a loss.

A few years ago I remember Dan O'Malley stating he dug up the news from Fark.  Let's face it, the stuff that shows up here just fits in with their format.  I wouldn't be surprised if Dan was a farker, and if he is, if he'd be kind enough to post the feelings of the RMS crew on this recent loss.

I guarantee he was an organ donor so even in death he will keep giving to those in need. His charities will also live on so do not weep for him. Strive to leave behind a similar legacy.

Kidd's charity like Russ's is just a tax dump for the millionaires that they are to write off at the end of the year.  They're both assholes in the long run.

Next you'll tell me John Boy & Billy Sweet Tea or Gary Burbank's BBQ would go nowhere w/o the constant on-air radio shilling
