Why does Air Targaryen have a Stark dire wolf instead of the dragons?

It is either a subtle hint at the R+L=J theories showing a union between the houses... or they made a mistake. I'll let you decide which one.

For that theory to bear out, I guess the R seed would not be strong.

Just the L line is very strong. Which i guess matches what we know about modern genetics.

Pretty sure that's supposed to be a dragon's head. The snout doesn't look like a wolf; it looks like a dragon. It isn't at all the actual Targaryen symbol, though.

Considering that the violet eyes and white hair of the Targaryens is likely an incest-borne genetic mutation, it'd be a surprise to see that coloring maintained.

Wait, nvm, I remember them talking about other folks with strong Valyrian heritage having the same coloring.

Either way we have good clues from book 1 that the brown hair/brown eye gene is dominate in ASOIAF land just like real life.

I wonder if I can convince the developers to buy me those images for my training.  That would make Advanced Investment Income and Corporations slightly less mindnumbingly boring.

damn, not finding them on shutterstock. must figure out appropriate search terms.

The Targaryens would bring in outside blood if there wasn't a brother/sister available.  That's why Rhaegar was married to Elia in the first place.  But the white hair/purple eyes persisted in their bloodline.

Meh, just give those images the ol' right-click and they're yours. If they're being used for educational purposes only, they probably fall under the "Fair Use" thing.

Sadly no. Since I'm writing for a corporation's internal tax training, I have to follow the rules.  I might do that for our internal internal stuff (ie presenting out to the other writers/editors/developers, how to make non-crappy ppts, how to deliver virtual training etc.) just for a giggle.

Ooh, yeah. That's gonna blow the "Fair Use" thing out. Still, If you have the time and skills, there are plenty of long-dead historical figures that could be shopped into corporate scenarios.

I got no skillz. I'm a tax attorney typed.  I'm an oddity for being even remotely creative. I had to give an internal presentation on "why you don't want to use your outline as your power point slides" to the rest of my team.

Now my developers on the other hand... the one that we haven't broken yet draws manga. I figure I've got a good year or so before he's so jaded/busy that he has no interest in drawing things from scratch.  I'll send this to him.

Should have tried to work in the house colors a bit more.

Nights Watch should have definitely been a security system company.

I read the books, but that actor makes the Bastard of Bolton much more despicable.  I really hope to read about him getting flayed alive one day.
