He'll either be "Patient Zero" or "Captain Guido" by Labor Day.

To cross the bay from Cape May you have to us a Ferry.

However, traveling from a bit farther north, the Delaware Memorial Bridge toll is only $4, quite a reasonable sum to get out of Jersey.

Swimming 13 miles to get  out of Jersey, on the other hand, seems like a reasonably sacrifice.

. . . Or  reasonable even.

Swimming TO New Jersey?

Read that as "bridge trolls" at first.  Was disappointed when I realized my mistake.

The water around New Jersey has potholes as well.

Trolls would probably be more disirable than tolls.

You gotta pay the troll toll to get in.

Delaware Memorial Bridge is reasonable. It's the crossings around NYC that are nuts. $15 for the Verrazano, $13 for the Goethals, Outerbridge, GWB, Holland, Lincoln, and Bayonne. Less with EZ Pass, but still.

Those would all make for a shorter - but more crowded and polluted - swim.

In New Jersey, you don't pay bridge tolls to get in, just to get out.

Which brings to mind the perennial question since the dawn of "Jersey Shore": how many of the people busting on NJ have even been there? More important, how many know there's a huge difference between North and South Jersey?

That being said, the problem with this swimmer is the Delaware Bay, not NJ. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

Do I recall a bit about a cat in past swimming to NJ?  No, recalled wrong. Calico swam from NJ to Governors Island NY on Apr 21, 2011 (not on Apr Fool's Day).  Find I do have a photo -- guy lives in Pitchburg PA owned by several cats did caption.  This must be she --

Yup.
Same here. Too many trollastic threads recently also doesn't help.

Well, let's see...

Trolls regenerate, are weak to fire and acid damage, they fear nothing, and they love grappling foes and eat them.

Yeah, I'd be scared too.

That makes sense. Who would ever pay money to get IN NJ. The toll to get out on the other hand is a great deal.

It does explain the "swimming to New Jersey" bit. New Jersey trolls probably never go into the water. That may be why they are orange instead of green. They lose their natural cyanobacteria and algae.

Admit it everybody. You hate bridge trolls. They really get your goat.

After bridge trolls, the thing we hate most is people who steal the bridge. That really screws up your commute.
