DNRTFA but wanted to say that Ray Donovan is one of the best shows of the last several years and they're only mid way through the first season.

Also, a vast SoCal/NYC gambling enterprise bankrolled by Russians would make a great series as subby indicated.

Reminds me of the Bears player who set up a coke ring.

You're making plenty of legit $ in a glamorous profession - why are you dabbling on the wrong side of the law?

The pastor of my church had a sermon last Sunday about this 'just a bit more' culture that we live in.  Never quite enough.

I was not impressed with the first episode of Ray Donovan, but it kept my attention long enough for episode two.  Now I'm hooked.

Also, it must be hard to give of vices that involve some sense of power and control and danger.  Like a drug.

I watched the first two episodes and I'm not that interested. For summer series I prefer The Bridge on FX.

Dumbass was probably just trying to impress rich assholes by running an elite poker club...and ended up with a "partner" that was in the Russian mob.

Probably would have gotten a couple years probation...right up til the $100 million in laundered money came into the picture...now he's screwed.

I guess he could testify against the Russian mob...yeah, there's a long term strategy.

Oh, and Ray Donovan is pretty good...but I'm getting tired of the "morally flawed anti-hero" - it's kinda getting played out.

"You want the bag...or the bat?" was awesome though.

Showtime's who?

I'm surprised that there hasn't been a show based on the Russian mob yet.  They make La Costa Nostra look like pussies.

/of course, the Yakuza laughs at them both

Can anybody give me an interesting synopsis of what this show is about.  I've seen the ads because i watch Dexter, I've even tried watching the show, it doesn't hold my attention and I still have no idea what it's supposed to be about.

The last episode was great. Mickey getting down in the gay club at the end was hilarious. John Voight is awesome and is so often overlooked.

It has to be called "No Dice"...

Ray Donovan is a good new show, agreed. I couldn't make it halfway through the pilot of The Bridge, the female sheriff was just too damn annoying.

Some people do stupid stuff just because they've always done it and always gotten away with it. Think about Micheal Vick with his dog fights or Bill Clinton getting beejs from an intern. You can be sure it wasn't the first ride on the go kart for either one, just the first time they got caught. Hell, look at Matthew Weiner today. You think he's not even now sending out pix of his junk to potential groupies? Mayor of San Diego is gonna get a 2 week rehab. Think that will make him change his ways?

Watched the pilot, and it was one of the goofiest things I've every seen.
