Yup, what a silly thing to do--protecting three endangered birds.

Like they'd really care about suntan lotion bottles, used condoms, and dogshiat lining the nests.

This is pretty par for the course - if the game agency did it, even residents aren't allowed on that piece of beach. They do this in Florida for certain birds and for turtles, here in Hawaii it's mostly offshore islands that are off-limits (and the coast guard will chase you away if you get close).

I'm more surprised that anyone would be surprised. It's SOP to protect nesting shorebirds.
