While I do agree with this to avoid the trial trauma for the gals he held or so long.  I still think this waste of space needs to die. He isnt worth what it will cost to keep him for 1 day let alone the rest of his life.

Why did they even offer this POS a plea deal?!  Now he will be living out the rest of his sorry-a*s life, in protected custody, with 3 squares and free healthcare.  He deserved the death penalty.  His victims didn't get a plea deal while they were being beaten/raped/held prisoner for 10 long years..

They are the victims here, and to a lesser degree, the taxpayers.  WTF is wrongthe legal system in this country?  JEEBUS!!!

You've obviously never been locked up before.  Plus, this guy is either going to spend the rest of his days being treated as badly by other inmates as he treated those girls, or he'll spend them in solitary confinement, which is it's own special brand of hell.

If you're offering anything short of eye-for-an-eye in this case, then I won't be satisfied. Put the guy down. He plead guilty to save his life.... why give him what he wants? F*ck'm

2013-07-26 04:40:29 PM
Remember, the idea is to spare the victims any further suffering. If they take the case to trial and go for the dp, then you know his defense is going to do everything it can to deflect that including cross examining if they are called to testify.

This way, no trial, minimized publicity...if Nancy Grace could have a stroke now...and as little involvement of the victims as possible or as little as they want.

That being said, I hope he lives the rest of his short asss life in excruciating pain. Perhaps he can get Dahlmer's old bunkmate/block buddy...the one that shanked him and tossed him off the tier. He might also spend time being used as a party favor for the various factions.

Most likely he will be put into special population for his own safety. That's essentially solitary confinement for life. Its not anal rape for breakfast/lunch/dinner but its moderately horrible.

How exactly would the death penalty be eye-for-an-eye in this case?  He didn't actually kill anyone.  Putting him in jail for the rest of his life actually is a case of eye-for-an-eye this time.

2013-07-26 04:46:48 PM
People, the prosecutors didn't accept the plea, they OFFERED the plea. In most states it is very difficult to sentence someone to the death penalty, especially considering they probably lack some evidence for a murder conviction.  Doing it this way keeps the victims out of court and this piece of trash goes to jail forever, which is most likely the sentence he would have received if they wasted time in court.

Just because he was charged with murder doesn't mean they had a good or even decent case for it.  Although I will concede I forgot about the girl that he forced to miscarry a few times, so I suppose there was a basis for a murder charge.  I still stand by my point that death is too good for him though.  Let him get a little taste of what he put those girls through before he finally dies.

This is the cheapest way to go for the taxpayers. Why?

No trial to pay for (including the cost of public defenders).
No appeals to pay for.
No parole hearings to pay for.

I need to see if I can find the citation but someone did a study on Ted Bundy and how much it cost Florida for his 2 murder trials plus his appeals and then the cost of the execution. They then compared it to the cost of his murder trials and keeping him in prison until age 75. The incarceration was much cheaper than the appeals and execution.

Eye-for-an-eye in this case would be raping him for a decade.

I would be totally fine with that.  (Well, with somebody else being hired by the state to do that; I'm not volunteering.)

Failing that, just kick his ass outside and let justice happen on its own.  I don't feel like my tax dollars (yes, I live in Ohio) need to go to keeping this diseased animal alive and healthy.

don't know about prison vs. death, but between "had to relive the entire thing in public, and castro might get death, might get life in prison" and "didnt have to relive the entire thing in public, and castro will definitely get life in prison" for the victims, i'm guessing not reliving the whole thing through a trial is is probably a far better option.

and as far as civil rights charges... nobody would be pissed off about zimmerman getting away with murder if he was spending the rest of his life in prison, because spending your life in prison is not getting away with murder. i almost feel like i should thank you; i didnt think that there was still any level of stupidity that could surprise me, even on the internet, but im just farking shocked right now.

This is the best situation for all involved.  He gets to live in a concrete tomb forever, and those poor girls don't have to go through the evidence all over again.  Though I will miss the chance for Charles Ramsey to testify in court, it's well worth it to get this matter quickly resolved.

Actually the taxpayers are winners.  Life without the possibility of parole is cheaper than a death penalty.  A death penalty comes with automatic appeals.

No way is he in genpop.  He'll be in protective custody, which is the same treatment as the hole, basically.  23 hours a day devoid of any and all human contact, 1 hour a day 5 days a week in an outdoor exercise cage.  Maybe a television that shows religious or educational programming, maybe some books, but virtually no human contact.  He'll go mad in time from that, I would suspect anyone would.  It's hard to call what he's going to be doing "living", but he will be safe from shankings and rapings.

Mr. Eugenides:

This is entirely relative to where you live. In California? Sure... But other states like Texas or Virginia fry you fast.

Also, this whole expensive trial and appeals thing is a myth for cases like this... The case is beyond slam dunk. There isn't a jury in the world that would say not guilty... And the appeals judges would slap it down too. There is no need to use more than a few days for this trial... It isn't OJ Simpson. He got caught as red handed as they come.

We need to put him down like the dog that he is.

These.

The women wanted to be spared having to sit on the witness stand having to look Castro in the eyes while his attorneys make them relive the hell that was the past ten years of their lives.

Well, they actually wouldn't have had to look him in the eyes seeing how the craven sack of shiat is so much of a limp-dicked worthless waste of carbon that he keeps his eyes shut every time he makes an appearance in court.

Enjoy the rest of your pathetic excuse of a life looking over your shoulder, short eyes.

And when you die, be it either in bed after having spent the past twenty years of your life imprisoned or at the business end of a shank, you will still have Hell to look forward to
