I always wondered how Katie Kaboom would look all grown up.

SeedFreak: However, he seems to be experienced in pushing her buttons which make me think he's psychologically abusive.

I think she's just an immature crazy biatch.

There's only one person responsible for her behavior, and that person is her.

Onkel Buck: A lot of states are making people install them after a first offense now.

...

/This has been your Friday safety briefing.

Well, given that they keep lowering the limits to the point where a person can only be deemed 'intoxicated' using gas chromatography, I think it's pretty clearly not about just 'safety'. If a person's reaction time, balance, cognition and ability to follow instructions is not impaired and the level of alcohol in their system isn't enough to affect the testing of those things, then it's purely a money grab.

AngryJailhouseFistfark: But that's just the sort the abusers prey on.

Because the guy always has to be the one who's wrong, eh? It can't possibly be that he's just an average, normal, not abusive man who's been pushed to the point that he walked out the door by a crazy, immature, spoiled biatch, can it?

dazed420: I find it amazing that so many people are jumping to the defense of the woman despite the fact that she:

1) Has at a minimum 1 DUI if not more for her to have an Interlock device on the vehicle
2) Expects other people to be responsible for her vehicle
3) Has the ability to act like a little kid, I don't care how bad the issue is you do not act like that.  I can say that after experiencing some extreme stuff in my life like being told you are about to die while in the ER.
4) Quickly conclude that the guy is and has been nothing but a jerk despite having no evidence yet defend the woman even though there is tons of evidence that she is crazy.

I don't think most of us are "jumping to her defense".  We are just pointing out that the husband is just as much of a dick as she is crazy.

ringersol: A person with $100 can afford any given $20 purchase. But that doesn't mean they can afford *every* potential $20 purchase opportunity they're presented. After you make a few $20 purchases, the rest become no longer affordable, regardless of how much you make -- she doesn't get this, or pretends not to.

Like I've said before, this woman is just like my ex and your example is perfect. My ex received a large monetary gift from my family. I had received a similar gift previously. When I advised my then-wife to be careful and budget out what she wanted to do with it because it will go faster than she thinks it will, I was told that I was trying to control her money and was calling her an idiot. It doesn't matter that I calmly explained that she could learn from my mistake, I was calling her stupid. She then decided I needed some fists upside my head.

Now to the men on here calling this guy (and me I guess) an abuser I'll ask you this: How should I have handled that? How much of that bullshiat would you take from an adult before you went into self-preservation mode?

2013-07-26 02:55:11 PM

ringersol: You seem to be missing the context of having known a crazy biatch or two.

Yeah, I consider myself extremely lucky that I've never been involved with a psycho like this. My wife is very cool. But thanks for the explanation; that actually makes a lot of sense.

ringersol: None of which means they *weren't* doing a reality show pitch. It just means she's either an authentic crazy biatch *anyway*, or plays one on TV really, *really* well.

This probably is real. I think I'm just jaded.

That guy is a shiatbird. Just divorce her if she's that big a pain in the ass, but don't ridicule her. This dude is too big a pussy to make a decision and stand up for it, so he had to "prove" what a biatch she was and destroy her in the process.

I'm not calling the husband in this video an abuser, I have no idea about that.  But if my wife thought that she needed to hit me then I would have ended the relationship after about the second time.  Not necessarily because I would be afraid she was going to seriously hurt me but because I would be afraid I might respond in kind.

I agree. I learned a very hard and sad lesson but keep in mind that it's easier to be objective and make that decision when it's not you in that situation.

And the abuser accusation came from someone with the handle AngryJailhouseFistFarker. Go figure.

I tried watching the video, but couldn't stand it more than halfway through. While her behavior looks looney, she keeps asking for him to stop for cigs and he keeps refusing, so she's likely having a nicotine fit. He's an enormous dickhole who keeps egging her on because he's a farking tool. She's all dressed up, so he obviously decided "Oh, she was really happy to go to the lake so I'm going to take it away BECUZ CONTROL!111" There's no reason they couldn't go after the damn tires got rotated. Right in the beginning, he himself states he won't sit down and have a basic financial discussion with her.

Her behavior wasn't right, but honestly, I had to stop watching because he forcibly reminds me of my highly abusive ex. He really would sit there and say in the middle of the week "Oh, let's do 'X' thing this weekend!" then decide at the last minute that we weren't going just to savor my disappointment (not batshiat disappointment, the regular kind). I really hope she gets some damn cigs and some help.

OK that looked pretty bad but A) that guy married her and stayed with her for 14 months and B) he may not be a total princess either, especially with that jaw-beard.

That being said, I had to laugh because it reminded me of being in a hotel in Nashville when a drunk party took up residence next door. An extremely drunk, violent young women was hollering things like "I'LL TAKE THE FALL, I'LL GO TO THE DRUNK TANK" and "YOU THINK COMIN' TO NASHVILLE IS GONNA MAKE YOU A GOOD MAN?!?" in between getting into physical fights with her less drunk compadres.

She really did. I've dated far too many women that clung to me because I was "nice" but eventually deep down wanted me to be an asshole. Then they seemed to resent me because I wouldn't and frankly COULDN'T oblige them.

I have to agree with you.  Yes, the guy seems like he might be kind of a douche, sometimes, from what I could see in the video, his "doucheyness" was more the result of his disagreeing with her (more than likely) long-term bratty behavior.  Could he have handled it better?  Probably, but SHOULD HE HAVE HAD TO?  She obviously has a HUGE sense of entitlement.

... at one point in the video she says "cuz you're not taking your wife out on the lake to at least spend money for."  Yeah, I think that says it all.

The thing I dislike about the viral phenomenom is that it's inducing quick judgement. My pops always felt you should determine a safe distance, but then make value judgements much more slowly. He also said that given enough time, everyone will surprise you at least once. Feeding the impulse toward snap decisions is a great way to begin a manipulative process. People will be able to push public opinion far past the potential fo a reasonable response by providing an edited out of context video snapshot. This next bit sounds tin hat style, but the government will absolutely look at ways to use this to their advantage. If not in the U.S., then in some other technically capable regime. It has at least as much potential as doublethink.

All that said, my first impulse to to remind the guy that his vehicle has a driver and passenger front door, and he should make use of one of them.

When you've put your d**k in crazy, you have few options. One is getting out. Failing to do that, you should protect yourself.   This guy protected himself from a future restraining order or cries of abuse or he beat me or give me half your sh*t or in preparation for the negative press war that women rule in his future divorce; by documenting her level of insanity.  Good on him.   He's keeping his own a** out of jail from some trumped up assault charge, by documenting the crazy. Well played.

But this guy isn't acting like a man. A man doesn't taunt and callously treat a woman like that, no matter how batshiat crazy she reacts.

Bullshiat.  I'm a nice guy, and I would have gotten screwed.  He did the right thing.  She did the wrong thing by marrying someone who wouldn't stand for her shiat.

Welcome to our new world where only men are bad. I experienced this with my exwife who wasn't crazy but pure evil. Quiet evil. Repeatedly lying to me and about me and cheating on me and even though there was documented proof of her deeds everyone just shrugged their shoulders and said it was all my fault. It was a terrible experience but look at TV. Every man is a stupid fat idiot only saved by the love of the woman. Grow up with that for over 50 years and people will believe it.

Short term- embarrassing honey freakie-outtie boo-boo, making an embarrassment of yourself in the process because now everyone knows what you married.  And then having her be the winner by serving you divorce papers.

And she will win, too.
Because he humiliated her in public and damaged her reputation in the community, I'd bet.
Just wait and see.

I dunno, probably depends on state family law or something. But the duration of the marriage is short enough that we're counting it in months, they're both youngish, presumably both employed, and unless I'm mistaken (I haven't been following this story) there's no children. My guess is they'll just unwind whatever assets they hold jointly and get on with their lives and leave it at that...?

Me, my marriage lasted almost 20 years so I'll be paying support forever.

This

I've know three women who high-sided while married.
1 - married very young to a charming man who, after the vows, beat and manipulated her to the point where she became shrill, brittle, and then secretive. She called me from outside the country after fleeing him. He spent two years stalking me, sure I knew where she was, out of "love for that biatch".
2 - married to a distant but successful man who, after the vows, managed to go broke in the internet porn industry, sleeping all day and ignoring the new baby. She became shrill, brittle and spent a year asking everyone "is it me? or is he a loser?"
3 - second marriage to a laid-back man, after the vows she began drinking in excess and eating antihistymine pills like m&m's out of boredom- something happened and she went from cheerful and jittery to manic to baker-acted (5150) with regular intervals. He refuses to divorce her but maintains there is no love, nor any human regard for her, left.

If it isn't working, don't be abusive - you'll drive the other person mad

A buddy tapes his wife's tantrums.  Not all the time, just when she's WAY out of adjustment.  He was embarrassed enough admitting it to me.  He doesn't want them to see the light of day.  He just wants to have them for the day when he knows he'll need to show them to a shrink.

Laugh at your wife for behaving like that?  Not cool.  Hell no.

Yeah, if this guy's first inclination is to post something to You Tube rather than seek marriage counseling, methinks we're not hearing the whole story here.

I listened for the first 40 seconds or so. I heard a woman crying and begging to be let out of the car, and her husband laughing at her.

That's what happened with my ex.  In her case, it was a five minute tirade, because I had deleted a horribly blurry picture of christmas lights off of a digital camera.  It was the evening that I was vindicated after forever of that kind of shiat in private.   and as it turned out, It was the start of the best thing that could have happened for me.   Her parents were there, her sisters and brothers were there....  The whole fam damily was there..

I even had a pretty sound calculation for an exchange rate.  For every 30 minutes she had to be nice to someone, I'd catch around 14.5 hours of hell for it.

I've still got a good relationship with the ex in-laws, after almost five years of being divorced from her.
