Maybe he should switch party affiliation and run as a Republican on a pro-family values platform.

He hit on a female admiral? Really? I can't imagine that there's many of those around.

"Let's take a deep breath," said Filner, 70, who is divorced.

Damn.  The dude is 70 and still playing grab-ass.

So he can control the lives of women he's never met as well? Better to get him away from power.

Veronica "Ronne" Froman, the retired rear admiral and chief operating officer under Filner's predecessor, said Filner once blocked a doorway after others left a meeting, ran his finger up her cheek and asked if she had a man in her life.

Well that's just disturbing.

I wonder how "successful" he is with these ham-handed actions. I can't believe any woman would actually fall for them.

That's why you jump on the opportunity when it arises.

What this goes to show that public shaming and 'pushing out' only works when the person you are trying to shove out is capable of shame.
The fact that Filner at the least hasn't taken one of those 'leave of absence's goes to show that he fundamentally does not care what the rest of the power structure thinks of him, and that only the sheriffs carrying him away in handcuffs will get him out of the mayor's office.

Weiner is a more minor variant of this, since he is simply running for office and his crime appears to be public 'virtual' exhibitionism, serial at that.

Not only that, but the man she mentioned, Linden Blue, is actually  Linden Blue, the co-owner of General Atomics, the company that makes Predator drones. Not exactly the guy you want to piss off by harassing his girlfriend.

They wouldn't. It's like he learned all his moves from a Mexican soap opera....and Mexican wrestling.

Yeesh. Sound like San Diego, with all the military, ex-military, and military-industrial complex types about, would be one of the worst cities for waving your dick around.

Yes, because Jerry Sanders (R), the last mayor of San Diego, had such problems with those things.  Oh, wait, he termed out as a very popular mayor who saved the city from bankruptcy, changed his opinion in favor of gay marriage well before it was politically convenient to do so and still won an election after that, and won his reelection the same year that Obama carried the city by 10 percentage points.

As an officer in the military, she should have known how to rip off his finger, and shove it up his nose.

The fact that she didn't do that just goes to prove that women should not be in the military.

I dunno.  I used to live in San Diego 20 years ago.  I had a friend who would go up to random girls and say, "Wanna fark?".  19 times out of 20, he would get slapped down.  But, 1 time out of 20.....

Sanders was a pretty OK guy, and I'm fairly libby.

I wonder with all this sordid Filner crap if Donna Frye will take another crack at it.

Yep. It's just sad that he needed his lesbian daughter to explain to him for two straight (ha!) days why gays should be allowed to marry in order for him to see gays as people.

With just as much success as Republicans. Can't we just get back to blaming the party and classifying everyone who is in the party like the worst people that identify with it?

People can be persuaded to change their minds from time to time. What's "sad" about that?

F that. She is a hypocrite and needs to stay away from city politics.

"I don't like the strong mayor system, I think it's tyrannical"
"I think I'm going to run for mayor"

"I think we should be very liberal with the rights of people in San Diego"
"I'm voting for the beach booze ban"

Shall I go on, because that's what Donna Frye's record looks like. She needs to stay in OB and run her hippie surf whatever.

The fact that he couldn't just understand all on his own that all human beings should have the right to marry the person they love.
