Don't worry, Seattle.  I'm sure there are plenty of glassblowers in town that can put him back together.

Man, you just don't expect a guy like Percy Harvin to get injured.  This is just a huge shock.  $67 million and a first round pick for the guy?  You'd be a fool to NOT throw that down the drain for a guy who will give you maybe half a season.

This can't be true, because I've been told with a certainty by many Seattle fans that making it to the final 8 and losing last year means they're going to win the Super Bowl this year. I guess they're so delusional this won't even cross their minds.

Now we may only be as good as the 49rs. :)

No 49rs were hurt in this post.

Teams that would have been better if they didn't have all these guys suspended or injured = all of them.

I am a Seattle fan, I do not think we are a lock for the Superbowl. I'm not delusional but I am hopeful.I still think Atlanta is the best team in the NFC right now. Sophmore slump. I actually do not think Kapernick or Wilson will have that unbelievable season. I think defenses will adjust and learn to play them better now that they have had the offseason to study the two. I'd like to think I am wrong and its Seattle VS San Fran for the NFC championship but with the injuries that both teams have currently who knows how this season will play out.

\\Do not over look the Rams, I have a feeling the Rams could have a break out year and shock the shiat out of people.

cefm: So Golden Tate at #1 WR?

Sidney Rice, same as last year.  (Actually Rice was probably slated to be the #1 receiver anyway, with Harvin being the "wildcard" contributing from the slot and the backfield, and in the return game.)  Of course, there's still reason for cautious optimism on Harvin; estimates of possible missed time are all over the place.  Generally I'm reading 4-8 weeks; CBS said he could be out for the year but did not cite anything for that.  All of that, of course, presupposes that he will need surgery in the first place.

2013-07-26 11:07:18 AM
Sucks but not the end of the world.  All the receivers that were productive last year are back.

They upgraded the D Line (on paper) and should be better this year than last (on paper).  Tough road schedule will make it very difficult to win enough games to get a home playoff game.   They are certainly a playoff level team and rightfully labeled a championship contender.

Say what you want but Rice and Tate were on par with the Atlanta duo in terms of TD's and YPC.

/would rather have the Atlanta duo in a heartbeat

Dammit isn't there some HGH or some other PED they can shoot him up with?

I'd rather lose him for 4 games than the season.

Should they maybe have caught this before trading away those draft picks and giving him all that money? It's not like they weren't aware of an injury, he suffered it against them, for cripe's sake.

All that said, we still don't know if he's injured on the level of Michael Crabtree, for example. Even if he is, they aren't depending on some receiver who's about to turn 33 to get them through.

Are you kidding me. Seattle is a diehard sports town. Farking Soccer sells out. Seahawk tickets are impossible to come by. Huskies and Cougars do very well and the NBA was the 13th largest market until the team was stolen. 2) I lived here for 5+ years now and I was actually defending Seattle sports fans as getting a bad rap nationally as NOT being a good sports town. I'm an east-coast native, and I can tell you virtually NO ONE throughout the I-95 corridor really has a clue about the city in terms of its culture. Most people assume Seattle is literally nothing but nerdy software developers and engineers who view sports through the same entertainment lens as watching reality TV shows or board games.

I've already adapted to hating the Ducks since living here, but it's for a completely irrational reason; the annoyance of reduced speed limits upon crossing the Oregon border.

Well I'm living here in Seattle now, but I'm about to leave again for Pullman. Most of the WSU alum live out here or in Eastern Washington, but I still consider Seattle and the Greater Seattle Area to be more "Husky Territory".

I may not like the Huskies or the UW's dean/prices/inflated sense of worth, but overall their students are cool people and I like UW people well enough. I won't root for them against the Cougs, but I like watching them beat the Ducks and generally speaking if they are the last Washington school in a competition, I'll silently root for them.
