...there's, like, global warming as we're skiing, all of a sudden it goes from -20 to 90 degrees.

"The glaciers come down and there's, like, dinosaur sharks and they come alive again and they're eating everyone. And because of all of the water coming down the mountain they're like, killing people in the street... We'll see."

Because why the hell not?  Also, let's add secret frozen Nazis who were hiding under the glaciers in Aspen while they perfected the angry monkey cannon.  And there's got to be a sapient mango with a thirst for human flesh.  You can probably get Sir John Gielgud to play the mango - he hasn't been in anything for over a decade, so he's probably eager for the work

Really?  Too bad.  Well, just CGI him in then, that'll be cheaper anyway.

They've got a good start, but they're missing the obvious.

The survivors from the original "Sharknado" go on an Aspen ski getaway together. Insert gratuitous hot tub scenes.

Half of the crew hits the slopes in the morning, while the rest are hungover. During that time, the temp shift occurs. While the skiers are heading down the slope, it turns from ice to water, to an avalanche to a tidal wave. They go from skiing to water skiing down the mountain (insert terrible CGI montage 1).

Meanwhile, back at the cabin, all of the hungovers realize the shift and are dealing with a sharknado coming from the West. It's bad CGI time 2.

By the time everyone makes it back, the sharks and dinosaurs are in their own dino-sharknado, fighting against one another, then attacking the town of Aspen.

It ends with a shot of a Velociraptor doing a Hammerhead doggie(sharky?)style, giving us a glimpse to the next sequel.

SciFi, you owe me $87.32 for that script.

I am pretty sure Dinoshark ended with him getting exploded and a harpoon through the eye. I suppose there was no reason in that movie to suggest there were not more.... The Dinosharknado is fine by me.

As much as I disliked the original, it would actually be interesting to see a Megalodon in action... Despite the fact that I know they'd either use horribad CGI or stock footage of a great white that's been beefed up in scale. Past that though the picking is pretty slim since modern sharks haven't really changed much in quite a long time...

/come see the ancient Great White Shark! Looks just like the one from Jaws!

No reason it can't come back from the dead.  The next Syfy B movie is "Ghost Shark" on August 22.

The English Major: Turduckenado: This time, it's personal.

An EF5 strikes Canada during its Thanksgiving (ironically enough, celebrated on Columbus Day) and after having blown away half of Montreal (and picked up a few gallons of Unibroue's finest along the way, gently setting them down at the table in true tornadic "Delicately picks up and sets down a kitten whilst hoovering the car plant" fashion) the unusually culinary whirlydoom shoves a yummy-dinosaur inside another yummy-dinosaur and proceeds to shove THAT into another yummy-dinosaur and then blows THAT at 250mph into an oven owned by the Epic Mealtime goons (already lovingly heated to 150C as if in preparation for it rather than some crime against cuisine involving Ludicrous Amounts of Bacon)?

Destructive and delicious! :9

Yes, this is my bit to remind us all that a) dinosaurs still exist (at least their bat-analogues do, many of whom seem to not have forgotten that their closest extinct-theropod-dinosaur sister group included Velociraptor), b) dinosaurs get sucked up all the time in tornadoes (and really don't cause a lot of damage other than feathers being blown everywhere--I'd figure a big coop of nummy domesticated dinosaurs gets hit at least once a year somewhere in North America), and c) the image of Velociraptor flying through the air with the greatest of ease courtesy of an EF5 tornado is considerably less impressive when you realise actual velociraptors were about the size of a turkey or guinea-hen and quite birdy as is.  (And probably about as likely to actually SURVIVE being hoovered as, say, a turkey or guinea-hen--both of which are about the same size as actual velociraptors would have been.  Which is a nice way of saying "I hope you like your tornado with fine red paste and a mess of flight feathers of dromaeosaurian origin".)

/this does not mean dromies were not awesome.  Dromies are the very definition of awesome, especially as it's come out they may well have hunted like modern ground-running dinosaurs like secretary birds
//as the xkcd comic noted in referring to peregrine falcons "The fastest animal on earth is a predatory dinosaur...that primarily feeds on other dinosaurs.  This is a good world."
///dinosaurs, alas, tend to actually fare worse than mammals in tornadoes; little bones and bodies full of air sacs and high metabolic rates tend to mean little dinosaurs break easier in storms.  Hence why birds tend to roost or get the hell out of the way when they sense bad weather is coming

who said Sharknado was a good thing? Noone in meatspace thinks so...

2013-07-26 02:44:20 AM
"Reid also reflected on the surprise success of the first Sharknado film, and admitted she was initially unconvinced that the CGI sharks would look realistic."

They didn't.

"The glaciers come down and there's, like, dinosaur sharks and they come alive again and they're eating everyone."
I believe sharks are considered dinosaurs by some scientists but hell they could have them filled with metal or magnets, swirl around and create a dynamo. (dinomo?)

Why would they mess with a good thing? They canceled Warehouse 13. It's obvious that THEY DO IT BECAUSE IT MAKES NO DAMN SENSE.

It's like they're trying to fail upwards. Produce something that is incredibly horrible that gets enough publicity that it becomes a cult classic like Plan 9. What is the lesson learned?

"Let's do it again but if we make it even more terrible, it'll be twice the cult hit of the first one!"

This is what SyFy execs actually believe.

They should change the name of the network. SyFy is too close to SciFicand is confusing some people ito thinking they still support having SciFi programming.

It should be something like TromaTV or LoCoDeTV (lowest common denominator).

After Sharknado, I started joking that I was developing the less cataclysmic sequel, Eel Niño.

Then I googled it and found it was the name of a Baywatch episode. If my humor is on par with Baywatch, I think I'd better keep that one to myself.
