The clinical term for it is called "Democrat"....

Sounds dangerous.  Maybe the government should step in and regulate the stuff.

So it's as safe as playing high school football.

Hmmm. Mind-affecting chemical affects developing brains and minds more than it does fully- (or almost fully-)developed ones. To the Romerocopter!

// alcohol, anti-depressants, weed, cocaine, opiates, painkillers, hallucinogens, stimulants (like Ritalin and Adderall), depressants (like opioids or alcohol), dissociatives (obviously)...
// I'd like to see if they can do a comparison

Thank god all those reputable street dealers ID their clients before purchasing. Otherwise kids of any age might be able to buy it....

No. But bringing a cooler full of beer to a softball game makes the game a little more like football. "Get the force out, TACKLE THAT BASE RUNNING SON OF A B*TCH!"

Still won't stop the druggie crowd from howling "Legalize it dude!" I know..... It has "legitimate" uses in medicine. Then again, so did Thalidomide.

I started smoking pot as a teen and then well into my 30's and look where I am now. Posting on Fark!

A comparison study would be very interesting.  I'd be willing to posit that use of antidepressants and ADHD drugs do more long term damage quicker.

But that's just an educated guess.  I'm no scientist.

I don't use drugs (I'm a drunk) and I'm all for legalization.  Just don't hurt anybody else and we're cool.  But we're not sending paramedics to save your ODing ass.

the amusing thing here is the way that dopesters will attempt to present a coherent argument for the use of a substance that diminishes the ability to present a coherent argument

2013-07-25 05:50:01 PM
So does alcohol. And?

2013-07-25 05:51:41 PM
No way, I have permanent brain durrrrrrr and I hardly ever smoke weed except for that once from 1983 until now.

I used almost all of those as a teenager. Hell I didn't start using dissociatives til I was 20. I wonder what my brain looks like now.

DubyaHater: Still won't stop the druggie crowd from howling "Legalize it dude!" I know..... It has "legitimate" uses in medicine. Then again, so did Thalidomide.

You realize legalizing it would make it harder for children to get marijuana, right? I know conservatives are of a lower intelligence, but try to be logical.

SacriliciousBeerSwiller: So does alcohol. And?

Ssshhhh... People don't like pesky facts.

2013-07-25 05:53:59 PM
My personal studies have shown that people that don't smoke pot as teens grow up to be self righteous pricks.

2013-07-25 05:56:34 PM
Sure it does. Just like how weed causes people to go insane. Or rape indiscriminately. You know if you can't have an honest discussion with children about the actual experiences and results of a drug, your not going to save anyone for going on to hard drugs when they know you filled them full of crap with the innocuous ones.

Yeah, it's definitely worth locking people up in prison. In fact, I think at least 80% of our budget should be allocated to wars and prisons.

2013-07-25 05:56:57 PM
but that's when it's the most funnnnnnnn.

No it doesn't. They have weird results from a bunch of mice and a purported increase in mental illness that has as much correlation as wearing black turtlenecks on stage and pancreatic cancer.

As someone who, as a Colorado voter, actually did legalize it.

So like all recreational substances, including our beloved tobacco and alcohol, weed can impair health if abused by people who are still developing.

This no doubt validates all the misinformed fears and paranoia regarding it, right?

2013-07-25 06:01:24 PM
Huh. Seems more like a cure than a cause.

Thanks a lot. No, really thanks!

They also seem to develop a pathological fear of taxes, gays, brown people and someone taking their guns. They seem to have no problem getting up in everyone else's private personal business though.

2013-07-25 06:09:12 PM
The story says "ingredients" found in MJ. It would be interesting to see the actual study. Studies like these in the past have been found to use crazy high doses of THC that would never occur in nature.

2013-07-25 06:09:21 PM
This article is a repeat of the same information that gets a greenlit at least once a month.

2013-07-25 06:10:04 PM
So that makes at least three studies in recent years indicating brain and IQ issues with this drug. But don't worry! It won't kill you! It'll just make you vote Tea Party!
