DoomsDayAardvark: chirpy: DoomsDayAardvark: I held his paw as he took his last breath and drifted away.

I'm so sorry DoomsDayAardvark.  I will miss the weekly Kay pic's.  I'm sure your pain is much deeper.  Keep the faith, and get a new Kay (Ell?) soon, please.

There will be another cat (maybe even a couple) at some point.  Kay's "step mom" (my girlfriend) has offered Diego and Lindsay (the "October Kittens" from last fall).

[i445.photobucket.com image 640x480]

But it's too soon.  The house is too quiet, and I walk funny apparently, because I'm used to stepping around a cat who's no longer there, but it'll be a while before I'm ready to fill that void.

/Of course now, Lindsay looks like this

[i445.photobucket.com image 640x360]

And Diego is camera-shy.

We'll see.

You will know when you are ready sweetie.  That Lindsay is sure a pretty girl!  She looks so much better than she did in the first picture.  (((((((hugs))))))) Just because I can!

I  noticed there are a lot of Ohio-based Farkers who are also involved in cat rescue. I have a small problem. A few months ago a stray cat that lives around my apt building had a litter of 4 kittens. I'd like to grab two of them for myself and figure out what to do with the others, which includes the mother and the big tom who is the probable father. None of them will let me near them but I have been leaving out food and hanging around the food and am seeing some progress there. They seem in general good health other than being hungry. Any advice would be appreciated.

A quick update, as my morning at work have been very busy!

Got my boys to the vet, TC is fine, healthy and hale, not bad for FIV+. Did very well when they drew blood for the blood work, he's sparkling! Still needs to lose weight though.

Barby lost two pounds in six months, yaay! He now weighs 13 lbs... They did find a heart murmur though. His blood pressure is fine and in a couple months he'll be going in for his rabies, they'll do a blood test to check his thyroid and check for anemia and see if it's that.

If it isn't... Well... That means my old mans heart is getting old, huh? :(

He's nine years old...All I wants is for him to see twenty with his 'brother'... I know it's nothing to worry about but I can't help but fret about his future...

Good Meowning! eli has been getting me up at 4:00a.m. To be let in. Ugh! He knows I am a light sleeper, and can't ignore his warbling...after he was in, i had a thought..crud, I didn't check to be sure his mouth was empty....he talks with his mouth full...

No extra critters this morning. Whew!

Your local humane society should have a have a heart trap. I hear that kentucky fried chicken is good bait. Find a no kill shelter in your area. In Medina it would be Kitten Krazy and in Berea its berea animal shelter..ARF...that id w here Eli comes from. This is a " bad time of tje year, as shelters are over run with cats/kittens. I do think it wonderful that you want to help!

I've learned with TC that if your indoor cat shows up with a small critter in his mouth... He's found your pet mice!

Glad it's from the outside world and not a hand tamed cuddle bug mousey... RIP, Meow, Mix and Match... O.o

He ate all three of them last year.

I talked to TIDTMCATS last night. He dictated 5 pages he wants me to post. Instead, I'll give you a nutshell rendition. He's in jail in WY for a crime he claims he did not commit. He's asking for the Caturday family to write to him, it's really his only contact with the outside world. He promises to reply to any mail. His 2 cats are also MIA. He needs help finding them and securing temp housing for them, if found. If anyone is willing to help please EIP. He is desperate for outside contact/assistance. He needs someone to act as his outside contact to help him do some legal type stuff and asks if anyone has a legal background to help. I'll keep my email open to reply ASAP to anyone who contacts me.
on behalf of TIDTMCATS, thanks.

Hipster cat raises one eyebrow at you.

And then he slowly vanishes away, starting at the tip of his tail and ending with a raised eyebrow floating in the air. It's uncanny, disconcerting, indeed, unheimlich.

This is a trick he learned during a visit to an organic artisanal cheese factory in Cheshire, England.

DoomsDayAardvark: As many of you are already aware, I have some very sad news to relate this week, but I'll relate the story for everyone.

For a long time, I've used writing as a coping technique.  I prepared this obituary for Kay to help myself through it.  (Don't everybody click that link at once -- my host probably can't take a farking).  It helped, but it still hurts.

The obituary you wrote is beautiful. I am so sorry Kay has gone to the Rainbow Bridge too soon. He'll be waiting for you there, happy in the knowledge that he helped you through a dark period. You will be in our meditations today.

I don't remember if I've shared this one yet. This is Duchess, she was shot in the shoulder with a small caliber bullet and had several bones shattered and damage to some other stuff. We don't know how it happened, someone brought her in to the shelter. $2600 and 3 months at the Vet later she's back to nearly 100%. She still has a slight limp but she can get around just find and she doesn't have any trouble jumping up or down off perches. Now she needs to find a home.

REMOVE THE DRYER SHEET (FABRIC SOFTENER) THEY CAN BE POISONOUS.
In fact, when the dryer cycle ends, the chemicals are active not only on the dryer sheet itself, but on the clothes.
