So, the power of Fark is going to impress the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta?

In their donor report they have 8 pages (at about 220 people per page) of people who've donated between $1,000 and $2,500.  16 people/companies donating over $1 million and so on and so forth

They (hospitals run by CHoA) reported $395 million in revenue over expenses in FY2012
See this if link doesn't work: (http ://www.dacbond.com/dacContent/doc.jsp?id=0900bbc7801163a8)

Their services aren't free.  Do they help people who can't afford payment?  Yes, they wrote off a whole 34 million in bad debt in 2012 and the sum of their uncollectible billing was a mere 17 million.  The companies and rich people who donate (for tax purposes) more than make-up for that amount.

I'm not saying they don't do good work, that it isn't a good hospital system, that children's healthcare isn't important.  I'm saying they don't need MY money, and probably wouldn't notice yours either.

Imma go ahead and finish off being a complete asshole to subby and say that there are about a million better ways to spend your time and/or money than to donate it to a hospital system who apparently is flush with cash.

I'm a Canadian, so I have to ask why isn't the compassionate Republican party pushing for government funding of hospitals like this. Jesus would.

You want to know the difference between cancer and children?
I'd rather have cancer than children.
