I don't care what you think about this guy, he has balls the size of Big Ben.
Easily could have gotten detained or arrested, even by UK standards.

I think this would be like if, in America, someone dressed up as a Secret Service agent and stood outside of a bar in Washington D.C. with a black, tinted-window limo outside.

Or something like that.
I really don't care. This guy was harmless, funny and actually did a pretty good job as the Town Crier. Kudos.

Isn't impersonating a royal crier punishable by death?

But...how?

FTA: On Fox News, Stuart Varney told viewers that Appleton was "the town crier making the official announcement in a very loud voice, all in his full regalia."

My brain read that as "the town crier making the official announcement in a very loud voice, all in his full vagina."

My brain does that to me sometimes. Often, actually.

I don't know dick about UK standards, but seriously I don't see how anybody would have a problem with this.  Or the example of the guy dressed up like a Secret Service agent (Brooks brothers grey?) outside a tinted window limo, which are a dime a dozen in DC.

I am pretty naive tho.

Oliver still failed to call the other media outlets on the fact they treated Appleton like the official crier.

That whole segment was the hardest I'd laughed since Oliver has been hosting. The horse in the bar part was just brilliant.

I know I'm incredibly late here but I think the real story is that if your REAL rites are so nuts that everyone thinks this guy is legit then you need to tone it down a bit.
