I wrote a Hitler biography called "Kill all the Jews". That's ok, isn't it?

"Everyone expresses some form of faith every day, whether it is religious or secular," he wrote. "Some express faith by believing when they get up in the morning they will arrive at work in one piece, thankful they have been given another opportunity to enjoy the majesty of the day, or express relief the doctor's results were negative."

Can he get in trouble for being stupid instead?

Headline:  Military Chaplain in Trouble for Offending Atheists

Article:  "But [removing the article from the AF website is] not good enough for the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. They want the chaplain punished for what he wrote."

MRFF wanting the  chaplain punished != the chaplain was punished

"Punishing the chaplain" will now be my new slang term for whacking off.

That the book was an autobiography of an individual who issued a false statement does not alter the false nature of the statement.

There's no such thing as an atheist in a foxhole.

I really take issue with that statement. Has anyone ever actually seen a hole dug by a fox? They're tiny! No human soldier could fit into one. They should be called bear holes.

I don't see how you can endure such slander. This is the most derogatory thing I believe I've seen in... at least ten or fifteen minutes.

Not one single person. He kept giving away his food to fellow starving POW's held by the Japanese until he himself died of starvation.

Is there really anything there that requires faith? I'm not seeing it.

A christian friend of mine insisted my "faith" that the sun will rise in the morning was essentially the same as his faith in his god. He wouldn't accept that I know the sun is coming up tomorrow, because I can't predict the future. My brain melted after that.

Theres no such thing as a rightwing religious nut at the fire button of the nuclear arsenal.
Quiet executions are confidential and so many deadly gas leaks in those bunkers.

In his defense, anything can happen.  But he's still an incredibly dumbass.  Here's your defense. Life doesn't exist without it acting with confidence on strong probabilities.  If you can't conceptualize the incredibly small chance of dying in an airplane crash and show some confidence on strong probabilities, you don't fly an airplane.  And you could replace airplane with anything.  Eating food (might be contaminated), getting out of bed (might trip and fall) etc. etc. etc. etc.

This wasn't Athiests.  It was the MRFF, a pretty small organization.  Just because Townhall, FoxNews, Freepers, and most crazy uncles are going nuts over this, I'm not going to assume all christians are "whinny little biatches", so you shouldn't make assumptions either.

If you want your soldiers to spend all their time digging have them take up farming.

My men don't dig foxholes. I don't want them to. Foxholes only slow up an offensive. Keep moving. And don't give the enemy time to dig one either.  -- Patton.
