(Advertising Age)   And then I saw, under the altar, the tenders made of chicken and waffles, and they cried with a loud voice, saying, Oh Popeyes, holy and true, dost thou not give us sauce and avenge our orders on those that dwell in the drive thru?   (adage.com) divider line 4

The limited-time Chicken Waffle Tenders -- boneless chicken strips with a waffle batter, served with a honey maple dipping sauce -- were inspired by the dietary habits of jazz musicians in Los Angeles during 1940s and 50s.

Which was a transplant of Southern musicians, specifically from Georgia.  Atlanta.  Sweet Auburn, to be precise, is the home of chicken and waffles, you twats.

Which is weird because I've never heard anyone here claim that and Atlanta (a city with a weak identity) is desperate to claim anything.  Atlanta really only has one dedicated chicken and waffle place and the rest are all hipsterish joints, and I say that as someone who had chicken and waffles at Twain's last Sunday.  You never saw it 10 years ago.

Harlem is what I've always heard.

...is something a person who's never been to Roscoe's says.
