In lieu of the potatoes and carrots, you can put black eyed peas in chicken broth in the bottom of the pan.

"O Popeyes," without the h, if the "O" is vocative.
"Oh, Popeyes," with the name "Popeyes" set off by commas on each side, if the "oh" is an interjection followed by a  direct address.

Pick one.

DROxINxTHExWIND: I had Popeys for lunch to today so I'm getting a kick... trying to figure out if this pain in my chest is gas or a mild heart attack.

kwame: Chicken and waffles is stupid.  I'm convinced someone just decided to see what Yankees would eat if you told them it was a Southern favorite, and it turned out it tasted good to a lot of people.

Strong statement from someone I have Farkied as "eats bugs" for some reason.

HeFixesTheCable: vudukungfu: EyeballKid: the blissfully delicious combination of hot sauce and maple syrup

Hot sauce, maple syrup, brown sugar, butter, mixed, and slathered in between the spiral cuts of a maple smoked honey glazed HAM, wrapped in bacon, and parked on a bed of garlic leeks to simmer in the oven until the bacon is just crisp (and you do this while it is covered)

You'll need beer.

UUUUNNNGGGHHHHH.

and I'm spent. Thank you. got a smoke?

I know, right? I would probably blow an O-ring trying to return that meal to the earth.

100 Watt Walrus: Summary: Origins unknown, no more popular in the south than elsewhere, especially Baltimore.

Meh.  50% of that dish is an unarguably Southern component.

I don't think I ate any bugs.  Are scorpions bugs?

Wait, I ate crickets.

No, they are arachnids, technically.

Based on some threads that have escaped from TFD to Literland, "eats bugs" is a very polite way to have him Farkied.

Unless they're inflatable bugs, I suppose.  I ate beondaegi once, so I could be Farkied as "eats bugs."  But I'm pretty sure people who have Farked me had other qualities in mind by now.
