Lots of white paint.

Wellon Dowd: Lots of white paint.

Most ASAPScience videos just show the narrator drawing on a whiteboard, with the occasional small props (e.g. small bits of food in the recent "This is 200 calories" episode).  I think that for this, they just superimposed Bill Nye onto the whiteboard using a green screen.

It's nice that he's working so hard to protect Beakman's World.

Even Bill Nye won't get me to click an inane i09 link.

He's looking a little crazy these days...

Honest Bender: He's looking a little crazy these days...

Well, he is an engineer who's been pretending to be a scientist for the past 20 years.  That's gotta wear on your brain.

Nah, he was always that way.  He just got better at it as he got older.

I want to see him fight to the death against Neil DeGrasse Tyson-- FOR SCIENCE!!!

=============

Seriously-- that was a fun video to watch and Bill is an awesome guy.  Just imagine how great things would be if we had a bunch of his clones elected to Congress.

/Thanks, Bill, for making that year I taught middle school science a little less painful.

I guess that I really have always enjoyed science except for when it is taught in school. I was as excited as HE was about thinking up ways to stop an asteroid during that video.

Some people hate Gawker media (and all of the related websites) +/- gawker's site design.

Or maybe it's that they mostly just pass on a link to something else with a bit of wry commentary *COUGH*fark*COUGH*

Is he high or drunk in that video... cause he seems like it. Maybe it's just more noticeable with his age?

Go away Bill.
We don't hate you. Just - go home.

so what happens when it is a comet and you get 6 months warning?

and the comet hits the moon...

2013-07-24 09:44:58 PM
The hell? Did he get drunk and age 10 years for this video?

2013-07-24 09:49:51 PM
Seriously. Is he wasted? I mean the video was fine, and I generally like him, but he seemed really drunk.

OK nevermind, a google image search shows ol' Bill has pretty much always looked like that.

You go ahead and vote for your Five Hundred Bill Nye Clones Party and see where that gets you. I'm voting for the Five Hundred Mila Kunis Clones Party.

He sounded more like the drunk guy at the bar to me.

2013-07-25 02:37:25 AM
I'm thinking the drunkeness is due to lack of editing.

They're part of the spam-web, along with cracked and a few other sites, where their business model is based on creating no-content content like top-ten lists and then spewing them all over every content aggregation site on the internet.
