I looked at that for about 20 seconds and quickly realized that it was too much work for the funny.

The not funny answer is of course "do not text a picture of your junk, ever". I'm not much fun at parties, either.

This is such a lame non-issue scandal. No molestation or rape or assault, no violence, no flagrant misuse of public funds? WHO CARES

Cheating like Weiner did is an awful thing to do to a committed partner. I think he's a heel. History is overflowing with so many august leaders and luminaries who were unfaithful to their spouses, though, that I don't understand why we still equate skill in marital fidelity with skill in one's profession.

Ask yourself a simple question: "Would it cause problems for me if this picture was uploaded to the Internet and identified as being of me?"

If the answer is "yes," then do not upload the picture.
If the answer is "no," then you are wrong; go back to the previous paragraph and try again.

Whining voice: But he's got an illness for which he's seeing a therapist!

I would be incredulous that he continues to seek public attention like this, but I shudder to think of Sen. Linsey Graham's kinks that never see the light of day. Or any other US senator for that matter.
State politicians are just local perverts, big froggies in little ponds. But national level attention whores are another stripe of skunk.

Flowcharts have graphical rules. This one violates many of them.

It is impossible to follow the bottom of the chart. You basically need to go backwards through some of the links to get to certain spots.

It does seem to indicate poor self control and lack of consideration for the consequences of one's actions.  Those are not traits that I like in an executive.  Maybe if he were still just a legislator I would care less but he will have considerably more power as mayor of New York.

If a man is not able to think rationally an control his urges into an appropriate channel, he is not the kind of impulsive guy you want running for office.

Out of positive psychology's 24 character strengths, I would argue that this reflects poor self-regulation, judgment, and perspective. One could also argue that the unsolicited nature of these texts also reflects poorly upon kindness: he sent it to someone who he knew probably did not want to see it, in no small partbecause she probably did not want to see it.

Self-regulation and kindness, it could be argued, are not among the most important strengths for a politician to show. Judgment and perspective, however, certainly belong on the short list. Some would even say that they belong at the top of that list. I can see why many people would have a lot of trouble with the idea of electing this man to public office.

If this guy wasn't a Democratic public figure, wouldn't he normally be considered a sex predator and next up on an episode of Dateline NBC?

How is it that the same party that excoriated Romney for his binders full of women comment (which, in context, was him pushing his staff to bring him resumes of qualified women to put in his administration as Governor of Massachusetts) are apparently good to give a pass to this screw-up and the predacious mayor of San Diego?

Heard Weiner on the radio this morning, accidentally referred to his wife as "he" before hastily correcting himself. The dude's got some issues.

And only in America is "He'll fit right in" the same thing as "He's qualified."

At what point do we have to admit that representative government is a failure and take the voting for laws directly to the citizenry?   Just work out some sort of Electoral College-like system where you vote on how your congrescum will vote.

It's called "character."  You should look it up.

If someone can blow off their marriage vows -- the most important promise they will EVER make -- then what hope do we have of them keeping their word as a politician?

Really?  Do we have to connect these dots for you?  Are you that out of touch with reality?

Just this morning on the way to daycare, listening to NPR, I told my 7 month old baby boy that no one EVER wants to see his junk.  Never, never, ever.  If something in his head tells him someone wants to see it, that voice is wrong.  The answer is never.  I will have this talk with him at least once a month for as long as I have a captive audience.  NEVER.  As soon as he can talk, I'm going to have him repeat after me: NO ONE EVER WANTS TO SEE YOUR JUNK.

Well bless your charming little heart.
As I mentioned already, marital infidelity among otherwise highly effective, successful, brilliant, or moral individuals is historically not at all uncommon. I think it reflects poorly on someone's personal character, but it just isn't, on its own, very convincing evidence that someone is also horrible at judgment and circumspection in all other elements of their life.
Oaths of office are also more important than marriage vows, on a public scale. Breaking the former has the potential to do more harm to far more people.

Seriously, though, I hope he wins, for the comedic value if nothing else.  It'd give a whole new meaning to "going to meet Mayor Weiner."

Weiner has to be insane to be exposing himself (no pun intended) to such public ridicule after the first time. At least a dude who cheats on his wife can keep that on the down low. Why the Christ would you leave a trail if you're a public figure with this texting crap?

It's a concern of judgment, ultimately. If I throw a rock at a bee's nest, get swarmed and hospitalized, get out and do it again, you'd have to assume I'm either suicidal or retarded.

That's basically how I look at it.  Except, I'd consider you a half wit for throwing the rock, as a presumably well educated adult, the first time.  Second time is just moron icing on the idiot cake.  But my standards may be unjustifiably high for my preferences in candidates for public office.

Weiner's dick pics are more like electronic flashing than marital infidelity. He should be wearing a trench coat in his photos.
