Yeah what we need is a WWE "attitude" era poster with the GOP leaders mashed in. That would be funny.....yup....funny.

Man, I hope Pete Seat killed his parents for giving him that name.

2013-07-24 11:08:41 AM
I think we'll get better traction with the 15-18 year old demo if we "Rasta-fy" the GOP candidate by 12% or so. But still, make him hip. And edgy-cute.

Imagine, though, a race pitting Clinton or Biden against a Gen. X Republican like Marco Rubio (age 42), Scott Walker (45), Paul Ryan (43), or Bobby Jindal (42).

Let me first be transparent here: I'm a Republican, and I'd like nothing more than to see Clinton go down in flames.

Yeah, we figured that out when we saw it was from Politico.

Is "She's too old" the next "Doesn't she look tired?"

I think the GOP is just mad because "Old White People" is the only voting block they still have a shot at. Unless they manage end home mail delivery of course. . .

TFA: "Imagine, though, a race pitting Clinton or Biden against a Gen. X Republican like Marco Rubio (age 42), Scott Walker (45), Paul Ryan (43), or Bobby Jindal (42). At that point, Republicans could easily tag either Democrat as a purveyor of deficits and debt, an architect of decline and defender of the status quo, while the fresh-faced Republican nominee is touted as the leader of a party full of new ideas."

Translated for us filthy libs and unskewed: Imagine, though, a race pitting Clinton or Biden against a Gen. X Republican like PanderMan (age 42), Scourge of WI (45), Fark the Poor and Elderly (43), or THE VOLCANO (42).  At that point, Republicans could spend the entire campaign defending themselves against wholly justified attacks against their actual in-office results and policies as actual architects of decline and promoters of a return to the Gilded Age, while the old-ass Democratic nominee is touted as well, old, but at least not f*cking stupid.

Alphax: New Republican ideas like Feudalism?

You joke, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn the GOP has think tanks currently working on ways to re-brand feudalism and/or slavery to better resonate with voters. "Oh, no, it's not slavery, it's...free-market individual franchising!"

Let's see would I rather see the (very accomplished in her own right) wife of the best President in my lifetime, or Marco "even my own party wants me gone" Rubio, Scott "I've got so much Koch in my mouth I can only talk out of my ass" Walker, Paul "Couldn't cut it in '12" Walker, or Bobby "LOL Public Education - go to a Christian School" Jindal?   Gee, that's a toughie...

Lots of old white women that typically vote GOP would vote for Hillary just too see an old white women become president before they die. That has the GOP terrified.

You gotta love an article about Hillary's age that never mentions her actual age.

2013-07-24 11:24:47 AM

James!: Hillary is not going to run.

And neither is Biden.

Three more years for a new Dem hope to emerge.

In the meantime, that's three more years for the Tea Party to continue tearing Rubio apart for not being as terribly racist as they are; three more years for Wisconsonites to tear Walker's throat out in a violent mob; three more years for Paul Ryan to continue being an ineffectual blowhard in the House; and three more years for Louisiana to continue setting new records for a failed state under Jindal.

Just keep touting your saviors, Republicans. Just like Mittens. And McCain. And Herman Cain. And Michele Bachmann. And Rick Perry. And Newt Gingrich.

2013-07-24 11:25:34 AM
Neither Hillary not Biden are making any real effort to be in the public eye. If they are not constantly doing public events by the middle of next year, they are not running.

I've been saying this ever since Hillary ran the first time around...

(Now) It's not just that Hillary Clinton is old. SHE IS HATED BY REPUBLICANS.

Because she is so polarizing, the age thing will be just enough to tip the race away from her. Our next President will be a Baby Boomer, but he or she will be a young baby boomer, probably someone in their late 50s.

Assuming the next president wins two terms, Gen Xers will have their chances thereafter.

Excuse me ... which "new ideas" are they talking about? I haven't seen any. I'll admit they have fewer wrinkles and some damn fine haircuts, though.

Gary Hart's law: Keep talking about "new ideas" without giving examples, and people will ridicule you.

Don't forget RAND PAUL. Don't you think America wants to more closely resemble the heaven-on-earth he's transformed Kentucky into?

And, Dems, how about next primary, you don't go with the most milquetoast candidate you can find? If the GOP can pick its candidate out of a list than resembles a list of rejected John Birch Society applications, then you can afford to nominate, I dunno, a real liberal for president? PROTIP: Whomever you nominate will be called the lib'rullest lib'rul that ever done lib'rulled a lib'rul anyway.

Hillary would be 69 years old if elected President...aren't libs/dems worried about her health? Hillary being to 'old' to be President? After all, age was a big deal when it came to McCain.

Republicans weren't going to vote for a Democrat anyway, almost anyone these days who identifies with the GOP would never vote Democrat. The independent vote is becoming more and more important, and Hillary is well-liked by the left and moderates. She will do well with women voters. Plus her husband has a good reputation as former president.

I would probably vote for Warren in the primaries but I'd vote for Hillary in the general if she won.

If Hillary chooses Sarah Palin as her running mate for 2016, yeah, I'd be a little worried in her case too.

Hitching his ride on the Palin Train didn't help. (Would have voted for McCain in 2000 most likely, when I was still on the GOP teat.)
