I'd be happy to take her off Washington's hands. She can "advocate" for me anytime.

2013-07-23 12:44:24 PM
Let's all just take a moment to picture her in Trance. Ahhhhhhh.

//don't want to know if she's a political idiot, will ruin her for me.

so are we all

2013-07-23 12:59:43 PM
OTOH, she's not Rosie Perez.  Which is nice.

2013-07-23 01:17:03 PM
So... if you advocate for something, you should a) be hard to get in touch with, and b) not do it often? That's it?

2013-07-23 01:17:53 PM
What they are sick of is the fact she lobbies for something without bribing them. I'm sure if she dealt out money like normal lobbyist they would love her.

2013-07-23 01:21:52 PM
This screams hit job, sorry she didn't grant you a cover story

if she is actually informed on the issues and using the soap box afforded to her as a celebrity for good then great. I haven't heard her using her advocacy as an attention whore move which makes me think she's being genuine (as is John Legend).

2013-07-23 01:25:30 PM
"Well.... She sort of talks and talks and talks, so if you don't mind transcribing 20 minutes of really fast talking, you can usually grab a soundbite."

That is precisely what is wrong with political "journalism."
"Who cares about a thorough understanding of the issues?  I want my political philosophy to fit on a bumper sticker!"

Frak it.  Pics of Rosario Dawson.

Thank you.  It's about time this thread turned in the direction I was hoping for!

How dare she not be doing PR puff pieces that we can oogle her dirty pillows? Waaaaaah!

Seriously, dude. If she wouldn't give you a handie under the table before, this sort of whining ain't going to help...

KEEP FILMING!  THAT'S ROSARIO DAWSON!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSsYwd5REEI

(Huge fanboy.  I think she is the ginchiest.)

2013-07-23 03:25:28 PM
Another gossip columnist, who, like several I spoke to, asked not to be named, was less kind about Dawson's earnestness. "Like, no one cares about Rosario Dawson's opinion on the Keystone Pipeline."

Like maybe you should learn to speak without saying like all the time and like maybe shut your whore mouth about Rosario Dawson and stuff.

Article says she's mainly been campaigning against the Keystone pipeline, if that helps.

Don't forget to not be passionate and educated about it.  That gets annoying.

FloydA was much more helpful.

So by "Washington" you mean bloggers and columnists for obscure newsletters who are upset she doesn't spoon-feed them quotes.

I for one welcome her opinions about laying pipe.

She sounds like a PITA, and I'm sure someone is sick of her shiat, but I'd love to pound her roast beef. I think you know my intent.

2013-07-23 03:38:54 PM
So the problem is that she wants to talk policy and she's not has cool as Bono?

2013-07-23 03:39:00 PM
No, Washington politicians do not get sick of attractive women. Or men, if they're Republicans. Not that there's anything wrong with that. (Being gay, I mean. Obviously there is something wrong with being a Republican.)

Wellon Dowd: So by "Washington" you mean bloggers and columnists for obscure newsletters who are upset she doesn't spoon-feed them quotes.

Is there anything more vapid than DC reporters talking about who and how they report things? It was a sobering moment when I realized back in the 90s that our politicians, and the reporters who are supposed to keep us informed about them, never seemed to have mentally put high school behind them.

Well she can stay at my place next time she is in town.

I'd hit that like a screen door on a Polish submarine being slammed with a hurricane by the fist of an angry god.

I liked the "So many randos I have to interview."  Eyerolling at having to interview celebrities and not getting sexy quotes or soundbites.  So we get...an article out of it...from an obscure newsletter.

/REAL politics and legislation is SUPPOSED to be boring.  It's work.  What do they want?  A "pipeline is harmful" striptease?

2013-07-23 03:45:01 PM
So is this sort of like why the NYT is pissed at Nate Silver cause he won't follow their bullshiat or what?

I am so glad our wise and thoughtful representatives take time to hear from the best and brightest.

Otherwise, our country might become a giant clusterfark.

Surely that Honeybooboo thing has their collective ear, too.

The only group of people whose opinions I care about less than celebrities is gossip columnists.  Who gives a shiat what they're sick of?

She's definitely a pita in the respect that I'd like to fill her pocket with some meat.

2013-07-23 04:02:17 PM
I'd share my polling data with her...

She's welcome to join my caucus...

I would enjoy meeting her to perform the act of coitus... if you catch my drift.

2013-07-23 04:03:33 PM
Wow. That article hit about a 9.8 out of 10 on the butthurt scale.

2013-07-23 04:04:02 PM
Sounds like she didn't grant somebody an interview or was mean to them, so they decided to write a piece on how everybody says, but he won't reveal who everybody is, she is a pain in the ass.

The thing about actors and actresses advocating for a political position is that most are no more qualified to speak on the subject than I or my neighbor down the road are. Their opinions do not become more valid because they are famous, they simply have a larger soapbox.

To be fair, her soapbox is nice and clean shaven.
