Whatever for

It's time to kick out these good ol' boys who have been holding this or that office for decades.

... by that you mean Senators Warner and Kaine, both of whom are in their first terms... right?

Fark... I messed that up, was just trying to login but wound up posting a comment.

Anywho... What I was going to say was:

C'mon, you know these guys are career VA politicians!

... Yeah, you kinda have to be a "career VA politician" to be a "Senator from Virginia."  That's sort-of how it works everywhere.

Diogenes: I don't have much ill will toward Enzi.  But I was kinda hoping we'd have another Teabagger primary challenge of an incumbent that resulted in a Democratic victory for the seat.

He brags that his role in the Gang of Six was to sandbag the bill and stretch out the process as long as possible whereas Grassley and Snowe at least attempted to negotiate in good faith. Which is what make the primary challenge all the more crazy: the only complaint is that he uses his influence to manipulate bills to be more conservative behind the scenes, and Liz thinks Wyoming deserves a firebrand who will advocate for conservative causes in front of cameras but likely won't have the committee seats to actually do anything. Democrats should want her on the ballot just because Enzi is far more competent politically.

Why? What does she bring to the table aside from a failed vision of American military hegemony over the planet?
