I'll take "things that'll never happen" for $1,000, Alex.

Except Rogers welches on bets. When Frisco beat them in the playoffs at Lambeau he had bet that he would wear a 49er Jersey  for a week if the Packers lost. He said "no". So you will see Rogers wearing a sombrero on his dick before he gives away a dime of his money just because he said so. He's a filthy welcher who bets with hs big mouth but never pays off.

Yeah, well, Braun bet his life. I'd like to see the bookies collect that one, too.

I really can't put my finger on why, but Aaron Rodgers always seemed like an asshole.

Yeah, this.  I'd certainly never make a bet with Aaron Rodgers unless a third party was holding the money up front.  Goddamn welsher.

Seems like a bit of a weasel. But if I put on my pedantic hat I have an out for him. He said "ya I'd put my salary next year on it." Now there are plenty of problems with that sentence but the most important word is the contraction, "I'd". Which of course means "I Would". Leave out the apostrophe and the d and he's in trouble but as written he did not actually make the bet. He only stated that he would make that bet. Therefore I clear him, ironically, on a technicality. The bet was not consumated.

It's not even a technicality, really. Nobody is held to stuff they say when they say, "I'd be willing to bet [X]." If we were, we'd all be in trouble. This is only a thing because it was on Twitter and because Rodgers is who he is. Otherwise nobody in their right mind would hold this against him.

I don't know if he's an asshole or if he doesn't pay off his bets, but I have lost a lot of respect for his intelligence if he believed a baseball player who said he didn't use PEDs.

So he might not be an asshole or a welsher but he's definitely an idiot.

Even worse he believed it after it was discovered the only reason the original suspension was overturned was a technicality. I don't know a single person who thought Braun was clean after that, everyone just thought his lawyers found a loophole.

If him and Braun are (or maybe "were" at this point) that good of friends that Rodgers was willing to stick his neck out so damn far to defend him in the first place, maybe Brauny should step the f*ck up and pay it.

Aarontology: I really can't put my finger on why, but Aaron Rodgers always seemed like an asshole.

He's definitely smarmy, but I'll take 1,000 of his types over every boring, cliche swinging "gosh, I'm just so happy to be here and if we just focus on one game at a time and give it our 110% out there" athletes who are still a dime a dozen today.

As someone who once promised to do ... a thing ... for anyone in a Memphis bar who could play "Orange Blossom Special" on the harmonica, I have some sympathy for Rodgers on this one.

You must have skipped the original threads. They were replete with plenty of einstein jr's using 'science' to posit some absolute bullshiat about refrigeration (or lack of it) and increased testosterone. Meanwhile, Occam's razor wins again.

I don't know if he's a giant douche. Other than the belt schtick he seems ok in interviews mostly. But yeah, anyone who has a 'signature move' can eabod. I hate that shiat. I hate it when my team does it. I hate it when your team does it. I just don't care for it in general. It's not a hanging offense but I still think, 'what a douche' every time.

As a Cal fan, he's a douche, b/c he could have waited a year and played w/ Marshawn Lynch and DeSean Jackson, and Cal would have had a legit shot at a Rose Bowl. Instead, he ran off, and we were left w/ Joe farking Ayoob.

Braun is one of his best friends.  They own the Club 8-12 MVP Bar and Grill or some bullshiat together.  Braun probably lied to his face about the whole thing.

Sticking up for your buddy is one thing, doing an end zone dance and calling fans idiots sucks.  Playing Ed McMahon and going to Sutton's house with balloons and an oversized check would be nice, after smacking Braun for lying to your face about it, heh.

Is there more to that Twitter exchange that actually shows a bet being made.  Saying he would make that bet doesn't mean he made a bet.  Did this other guy put up his yearly salary or anything else?  I never thought bets could be one sided.

Todd Sutton gets nothing, and anyone who believes he should get anything is an idiot.  Rodgers could donate his salary to charity if he wants to save some face.

Yes, but it's been well documented that Rodgers gets really pissed when people use the "you're shorter than I expected" line (or something similar)....he's even shut down interviews when reporters have brought up his size and/or his reaction to other peoples comments about it.  He has issues about his height....
