Good grief people are stupid. There is no pastry in the world worth two hours in line.

Sorry subby and journalist. You are both wrong. The cronut is delicious and fully worth waiting in line for.

I understand you hipsters like to frown on what authentic NYers like, but you're pretty much just posturing now.

This dude is making $1500 a day on a single pastry option, by the way. I think everyone in line deserves exactly what they get, though.

I dunno that I'd wait that long for one, but they sound pretty tasty. I look forward to the idea becoming a standard bakery offering so that I can try one in my hometown and without a long wait.

I've been stockpiling my daily allotment of cronuts with the goal of cornering the cronut market.  I get a feeling that cronut futures are going to peak right around January and the BAM!  I sell my cronuts and retire on all of that sweet, sweet cronut money.

5 bucks for a fancy donut in New York sounds like every day affairs to me.

I'll say I would wait that long in occupied Poland.

Croissant dough is actually very difficult to deep fry, as the delicate sheeted dough tends to separate instantly in hot oil. In a feat of pastry engineering, Ansel figured out how to successfully keep the flakey layers when frying croissants, developing a different dough recipe and specific frying conditions.

#1.  People deep fry ice cream.  Don't give me any crap about how hard it is to deep fry a croissant.

#2.  A different recipe? So it's not a croissant anymore.

I've seen people wait two hours in line to be the first to board a plane with assigned seating.

I am eating a day-old chocolate glazed donut (which was just wrapped in cellophane), which I purchased for $.75 with no line from the revolving vending machine in the 7th floor break room.  It's bland and somewhat stale, but I'll take it 10 times out of 10 over waiting in line with a bunch of navel-gazing hipsters.

On one hand, I agree, this is stupid.

On the other hand, next month's flavor is coconut. As a result, I'm probably driving four hours to wait in line for two hours to get one.

I don't understand the hater mentality here and elsewhere.

WHAT THE fark IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE, HATING ON PEOPLE FOR DOING SOMETHING YOU DON'T WANT TO DO?!

Do you not realize that, if they were not standing in line at the cronut place for two hours, they would most likely be standing in line IN FRONT OF YOU at whatever place YOU want to be.

You don't like golf?  Then you should LOVE golfers because they get the fark out of your way while they are on the golf course, which you would never be caught dead near.

You don't like NASCAR?  Well then you should be THRILLED every week, during race time, when all of the rednecks are nicely grouped up in a place you can easily avoid.

I hate all of you people.

Now I'm not going to take anything away from Hong Kong. It's a nice city. It even has a Disneyland. But it ain't New York. If I wanted to be surrounded by Chinese I'd go visit San Francisco.

Hells YES we do!

I will never understand why people have this crazy idea to try to get other people to like the thing they like when they should realize that is just going to make the thing they like that much more scarce or expensive.

If you find a good fishin' hole, you try your absolute best to NEVER let anyone else find out where it is.

I'm sorry, but everyone can agree that Dallas is in terms of writing, acting, and special effects,  second only to TJ Hooker in quality.  Your precious Seinfeld could never match the thespian that goes by the name Patrick Duffy.
