I would much rather see a Black Widow origins film. In this film they reveal that Marvel Movie Universe Black Widow's origins were at a nudist colony.

I like Falcon. I wish they would have gone with a Cap/Falcon teamup arc before jumping right to Winter Soldier.

Are they gonna make him a pawn of the Red Skull like before? 'Cause that would be awesome.

Unfortunately, movies don't allow for the kind long-term/slow build plots that a monthly comic book do.  Marvel has done
a decent job of doing slow-builds of plot elements from movie to movie in their first arc, but that was more in the form of
individual plot gadgets (like the Cosmic Cube) rather than an actual plot that grew from story to story.  Though maybe the
next batch will have a more highly developed plotline between entries now that they've got a few successes under their
belt and they're running out of old comic book plots to edit from.

For better or worse, each movies needs to be epic in scope, and that is hard to balance with in depth character stuff.

I'd like to see it, but Marvel has bigger fish to fry. Ensemble cast member at best.

Since Falcon is in the retooled/rebooted cartoon that is more aligned with the film's continuity, there's a fair chance he'll make an appearance.

Marvel's doing TV now...why not a show with like Falcon, Widow, Hawkeye, Moon Knight and Silver Sable doing all kinds of spy-shiat in the MU? I suppose a lot of them might end up in Agents of Shield, but still. Just have them dropping into some situation all over the world each week where they're either running up against generic Hydra/AIM/Hand threats, or maybe guys like Arcade, Bullseye, Taskmaster, etc. Borrow either the Secret Avengers or Dark Avengers name for the team.

Well the toon Marvel/Disney started putting out "Avengers Assemble" has Widow, Hawkeye, and Falcon so far, along with the staples like Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and Cap, but so far it's not as good as the toon it replaced "Avengers:Earth's Mightiest Heroes". They took a decent cartoon and decent art and voice work and replaced the artists and voices and characters to match up more with the movies.

I was a big fan of EMH - it's in my Top 5 superhero cartoons (BTAS, STAS, JL/JLU, EMH and Young Justice). Haven't seen the new one yet but yeah, it's too bad Marvel is still on this "we have to get in lockstep with the movies" crap.

Well one, if they made a guy who shoots arrows look like he could hold his own with Gods, they could do it.
(I'm a nerd so please don't tell me Hawkeye's origin story because i probably know more than you. I'm just saying')
Two, do yourself a favor and Google image Emerald Con Black Falcon. I got to meet the guy who made an incredible costume.
Three. Up yours, subby. I'd see it. I mean, if I could sit through Lee's Hulk movie....

It's the same writers and artists who do the awful Ultimate Spider-man cartoon, where Peter Parker goes to school with teen-age agents of Shield and Coulson is his high-school principal.

What was disappointing about "A:EMH" was...damn, they had something like 6 seasons of material and truncated it into two.

They just need to make her more badass if they finally did a solo movie for her.  I mean, she's the type that would seduce James Bond and he'd be putty in her hands.

She would also be the one breaking his neck in three moves or less.

Except they kinda scuttled that by putting one of the worst actresses of our generation in the role. Seriously, the girl cannot act to save her life.

I agree she can't act her way out of a wet paper bag, but she's no Kristen Stewart.

This brings up a broader point: why are the women in these comics-based movies so often awful or miscast? Scarlett looks great as Widow, but is a boring actress. Halle Berry was a poor Storm and even worse Catwoman. Katie Holmes wasn't good in Batman Begins. Blake Lively was a crappy Carol Ferris. January Jones stunk up the place as Emma Frost. Amy Adams and Maggie Gyllenhaal are good actresses, but miscast as Lois and Rachel. What's the problem?

I somewhat agree; I mean, you want me to really geek out about BW?  Look at Helen Mirren in "RED" and the upcoming "RED 2"; that's how BW should be, just a badass.

Someone in a recent thread brought up that while SJ is farking hot as fire, she has the wrong body type for an elite killing machine.  I tend to agree.  SJ is too soft looking.  They need the modern equivalent of Linda Hamilton in T2.

If they were going to go with questionable acting chops anyway, they should have cast Gina Carano.  Legit ass-kicker, but still sexy enough to satisfy the Hollywood types who insist on such things.

2013-07-23 09:43:47 AM
I'm still trying to figure out why Falcon is even IN Cap2.  The listed cast is estrogen heavy as hell, granted, but honestly there's just too many characters for what should be a tightly focused character study of Cap and Widow.

She was the hot girl of the moment, so they snagged her, and much to everyone's surprise Joss kept her and made it work(not a giant fan of her in IM2, but great in Avengers).  As for her body type, pretty sure Winter Soldier is gonna explain how she's so acrobatic and can take being backhanded by the Hulk and heal so quickly.  So all of that can be shrugged off.

I actually like that one. Didn't think I would at all, and the other characters are completely unnecessary, but damn it, for some reason I like it.
