McDonald's said the horse had caused "distress" to customers in the restaurant and insisted they could not serve the rider at the drive-through for "health and safety" reasons.

Sure, sure.  They're distress by a horse in their McDonalds, but aren't distressed by a horse "in" their McDonalds?

Really, you're making minimum wage at a farking drive-through window and you're really going to be anal retentive and give a shiat about a girl on a horse?  Hand her the damn fries and shut up.

Well, in the horse's defense the bathrooms in most McDonald's are disgusting. Who's want to use them?

McDonald's employee: WHY DO YOU CARE?

If it's a conveyance of people, a McFatty's hoverround, an ox-driven cart, or a pedal-powered art car, just give them the food and take their money. No one's paying you to think.

That's probably that horse's brother in the bag.

In March of this year a sea lion pup startled guests in a California luxury hotel after waddling in from a nearby beach, and pitching up at the patio bar.
In November 2010 a koala caused a stir at an Australian pub, after wadnering inside on a stormy evening, taking up a position at the bar before falling asleep.

now how in hell's name does this have anything to do about the incident.  were they trying to pad the article for space?

G.B. needs a total jihad brought down upon it.
Perhaps a slaughter of the white race and their reevaluation of priorities will eventually give any survivors a sense of dignity.

Some very sensitive people you have there.  Between myself and the horse, only one of us would be giving a shiat.

FTFA: In November 2010 a koala caused a stir at an Australian pub, after wadnering inside on a stormy evening, taking up a position at the bar before falling asleep.

Somehow I can't really imagine a sleeping koala causing much of a stir at an Aussie pub, unless it was being a dick beforehand. Sounds like a feature rather than a bug. Probably made the pub smell better too.

Really? The UK will fine you for scaring people? How do they handle Halloween over there? What a bunch of pussies.

Okay it's not often that I lol at subby's headline.

And that was the most nutritious thing in the McDonald's that day.

In the UK "health and safety reasons" are a blanket excuse for any stupid government or corporate policy.

If it was under 14.2 (147 cm) hands at the withers, then it was a pony.

Hmmm, I thought McDonalds was accustomed to serving horse.

Louisiana considers horses legal transportation and they're allowed on most roads that aren't interstates. My sister used to ride hers through the McDonald's drive-thru near our boarding barn to get their $1 iced tea in the summer. NBD.

2013-07-22 11:02:29 AM
In her defense, I'll bet dollars to horse pocky that there weren't any hitching posts outside that McD.

2013-07-22 11:02:31 AM
After all it was Manchester. You car can be predictably stolen or vandalized in minutes, no tell what those oversexed and hungover United fans may do to a horse, but it would certainly put you off your McDonald's breakfast.

2013-07-22 11:08:05 AM
FTFA - "The health and safety of our customers and staff is our top priority..."

How does McDonalds even get away with saying that??

2013-07-22 11:23:38 AM
People ride horses to travel and deserve to be able to drive through like a car.

The people at this restaurant don't get paid well? I'd better do everything in my power to make their lives even MORE miserable! Bwah ahahaha!

Bingo! Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a winner!  First you take the order then you take the money then you give the customer the goods or services they ordered and paid for.  It is a simple job with a simple premise.  If you feel the need to think, go home take a nap and return to work when the feeling has passed.  This level of thinking is reserved for worker bee's in Social Services, government employees and those with keys to Armageddon.

Noticed this in the article too. Are they just making up words to describe an animal walking into a bar?

2013-07-22 11:47:59 AM
Good.  Fark McSleaze and their horseshiat reasons for not serving people who don't fit the fatass image they want to project.

2013-07-22 11:50:15 AM
Am I the only one who thinks they did the right thing by denying service? Seriously, the horse is an animal like any other and it is a health and safety issue. And the people saying "why should the window person care" don't consider the manager could say it was their responsibility to deny service and they didn't.

FrancoFile: In the UK "health and safety reasons" are a blanket excuse for any stupid government or corporate policy.

Yep. The Health and Safety Executive (the government agency that enforces H&S laws) has even sent out posters debunking most of the Daily Fail bait that goes around.

This is a case of the minimum wage behind the till freaking out and falling back on the training that said only serve cars and vans, every one else walks through the doors.

2013-07-22 11:53:40 AM
So you have to pay for taking a horse both into, and out of, a McDonalds?

The horse was outside. I don't think handing its rider a paper bag would have been any more of a health hazard than handing the bag to the driver of a car.
