They added, "Despite repeated official correspondence addressed to Facebook Inc., it has never responded to monitoring group requests to discuss information on Facebook accounts belonging to individuals involved in hijackings and hostage-taking."

You're doing it wrong. Go to the business side of Facebook, not the PR side. You pitch an advertising service aimed at pirates, hijackers, and scoundrels. Facebook quotes you a price for personal information and connections of pirate-related entities.

Organizing Pirate attacks on Facebook? Somalia has enough of an infrastructure to allow pirates to freely go on Facebook?

Why would Facebook be licking pirates?

/Weasel misreads again.

So facebook will tell the government everything about me and my family, but when it comes to an actual hijacking/kidnapping/Kalashnikov-wielding terrorist they suddenly grow a pair of balls?

Thanks, guys...

The UN shouldn't be contacting them any damn way the NSA is in charge of everyone's personal information and they know it.

Didn't RTFA?  The illiterate reporter (and presumably, an editor) worded the headline that way.
