Surely it is time to reboot this series?  I'd rather have a Fringe film.

Reboot maybe but further films in the same vein, no.  The last film was a mess, it was like watching one of the later not-so-good episodes only twice as long.  I have a hard time believing (HA) that it took them so long to get the movie made and that was the best script they had.  A reboot however could go a long way provided the writing is good and they learn from the mistakes of the first series.

FTFA: "However when asked at Comic Con what Mulder and Scully might do on a date, Anderson quickly fired back: 'Have sex!', to which Duchovny added slightly puzzled: 'And maybe dinner?' "

She should be a bit more sensitive... the poor man is a recovering sex addict.

2012 came and went. Who cares, now?

I want to believe.

I liked the most recent film WAY better than the first movie.  I swear to god that The X Files is the textbook example of what goes wrong when your focus isn't telling a story, but instead milking every last dollar from a TV show.

My interest had already been waning a bit, but I finally gave up on the series after Fight the Future.  They have all this major stuff go down to set up the movie, then just use the movie to return everything to status quo to continue the series.

Lord Kimbote frowns upon your opinion.

What with all those ghosts/ bigfoot/Ancient Aliens/ Nazi UFO shows on current tv, it's a perfect time to reboot the X-Files.

Do a really creepy horror-infused one for Halloween. Profit!

Some of those episodes don't really hold up well over time, but the really early one where the loggers unleash the glowing parasites in an old-growth Oregon forest was pretty good. I watched it not long ago.

Uh-oh. Someone blew all their TV money on cocaine.

If they're going to reboot the series or a new movie they need to drop the conspiracy crap and get back to the original premise of the show. I started watching the first season over again recently and it reminded me of why the show was so awesome.

That one still terrifies me.

No reboot!

They need to do a movie that serves as a sequel to Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose where Mulder's death by auto-erotic asphyxiation, as predicted in that episode, comes to pass.

Yeah, Gillian, we'll get right on that, right after the new season of Firefly gets going.

Hope Dave brings some of that Californication sexiness to this one.

For a while I was treating Fringe as the new X-Files, even if it was not as ambitious as X-Files ever was.
