He is.  A real pro with a great attitude that really deserves this success.
See a prolonged Cranston interview like on Kevin Pollack's Chat show.

I've always enjoyed the story of him going up to Aaron Paul during season 2 and giving him a hug saying  something like "it's really been great working with you", Aaron then asks what Cranston is talking about and he replies, "You haven't read the next episode have you?" AP: "No" Cranston, "Oh, well, nevermind, you should probably go read it though"

There's only one way to give Breaking Bad a proper send off. The second to last episode must have a hell of a cliff hanger, Walt and Jesse are about to get executed, Skyler is running from the cops after her money laundering has been exposed etc. The last episode will start with a flashback to the previous episode and then this blurb shows on the screen "The following episode takes place 5 years before these events".

The last episode will have Walt trying to teach a high school aged Jesse chemistry and failing badly at it. Walt could leave work and go get dinner with the family at Los Pollos Hermanos and you could have Gus and Mike hashing out something at a table behind them. It wouldn't take much imagination to have all of the major players (both alive and those who were killed in the previous seasons) interacting with each other in a day in the life of Santa Fe episode.

Need to start the second half of the season with this.  I've waited this long to figure out what Hank does after he finishes his dump and I can wait another week.  End the series with that?  No way.

It's going to be like how the last season of How I Met Your Mother is going to be -- the last few episodes will occur while Hank is still on the toilet.

I still can't get over how Jesse Pinkman was supposed to be dunzo after the first season.  He's wound up so integral to the show, is indeed almost the soul of it.

He is the conscience of it, which none of us saw coming.  Hell, he crawled out of a bedroom window after hitting his high school bandmate's wife in the first season.  He was  a degenerate loser that did not give a shiat.  Now he is disgusted at Mr. White's depravity.

I don't know how deliberate it is, but I love that the show has slowly made us realize how different people are at their core than what we might initially perceive them to be. Walt is the boring, safe, middle-aged schoolteacher that turns out to be a relentlessly ambitious sociopath, while Jesse is the druggie, Tapout-sporting high school dropout that has a huge heart and is simply looking for a father figure.

As for the article... yeah, Cranston somehow gets more and more awesome with everything he says, which I keep thinking is impossible.

Where will we see his acting chops beyond BB? He has them, no doubt. I want to see him in other roles is what I mean. He has the stuff. He has proven himself as a fantastic actor in BB...he is worthy of a huge career, I think.

Incorrigible Astronaut: Tapout-sporting high school dropout that has a huge heart

I wouldn't be so quick to pour on the accolades.  He still committed premeditated murder, got a girl he knew was in recovery to fall off the wagon & caused her eventual demise, manufactures drugs and sells it, swindled a house from his parents and dumped his girlfriend at the bequest of his master.

No, Jesse shouldn't be spared whatever karmic justice comes his way.  He still commits bad acts like Walter, but numbs the conscious pain with his drug habits.  That doesn't make him any better than Walter.

I read somewhere (either here or reddit), that Walter White's story arc is similar to Scarface, and that the finale will leave no doubt that he dies, and there will be no sequels or spinoffs. I love the show, but I can see this happening. It's the only way, really.

I was over-simplifying to help make my point, but I agree with you. Among the villains of the show- and between slinging meth, killing Gale, and making countless selfish choices at the expense of others he definitely is one, make no mistake about it- he's the only person that's consistently shown any kind of empathy for his victims and struggled with the aftermath. Walt certainly felt that way during season 1 and most of season 2, but that's long since passed. Mike obviously did at one point (and it still came through when his granddaughter was involved in any way), but he was a cold-blooded professional by the time we met him.

Jesse regrets those actions.  Walt doesn't.  Therein lies the difference.

That doesn't make one better than the other.  Jessie became a disciple of Walter (and Gus).  He walked hand-in-hand with evil.  Just because he has regrets doesn't mean he gets to wash his hand of everything.

No, he can't wash his hands of what he's done, but he's far more likely to accept responsibility for it and try to atone than Walt (or Gus...or Tuco...).

There's only one fate for the latter examples.

Doesn't matter, still culpable and in the arc that is drama and story telling he too will get his come grand finale. No one will be spared of their demise in some form or another from Walter's actions and there in lies how the finale will finish. Walter will have through his actions destroyed everything he's loved or ever created and be forced to watch his life destroyed.

Remember that a man provides, he will be forced to watch how his provisions have poisoned the well and everything around him dies because of it.
