The only way to get an accurate age is to cut him down and count the rings.

I find it fascinating. Sure, he's full of shiat but he seems to have cultivated this very detailed ruse and has succeeded in fooling his entire family. That's amazing.

if this were any kind of true we would have found out about this guy like 30 years ago. i like to daydream about time travel sometimes so this is interesting in that way. like that article about zachary taylors grandsons still living. i like that kind of history.

anybody know any other stories like that?

Isn't there something that can be done by studying his telomeres or whatever those things in your genes are called that control your aging?

Is his real name Pando?

He might actually believe it. He probably doesn't know how old he is, or what year he was born, and when his birth certificate was issued (probably in the 40s or 50s) he just said, "I'm hella old, must be like... 80." Give me birth dates of his children, verify when an Earthquake matching his description occurred in Kashmir, etc. I don't know that he's a liar, but he's almost certainly wrong.

2013-07-21 11:32:11 PM
This is one I would like to see investigated, if only to show that he is or is not a fraud.  You can't let it go when someone makes a claim like that, there needs to be follow up to make an example of him.

NobleHam: He probably doesn't know how old he is, or what year he was born, and when his birth certificate was issued (probably in the 40s or 50s)

He's backing this up with a birth certificate that reads 1872 allegedly.

According to reports he has a government-issued birth certificate which shows he was born on March 10, 1872.

I'm thinking that that's his great grand daddy's BC or something he just came across and he's lying deliberately for the notoriety

Donald Trump says he has a team of researchers who can prove the man will actually be born 50 years from now in the future.

He says we are all going to be "very interested" at the evidence they're going to dig up and that this man is the biggest scam in the history of the future!

I second the claim of Shenanigans!  This man states that he lived in "Pakistan" in the 19th century. HOWEVER, Pakistan didn't come into being until Partition, in 1947!

loved the oddness in that game. trying to "throw rock at tree" (tree woman) and the rock breaks your computer screen.

anyways the extreme aged Indian reminded me of playing Civ and having a 6000 year old Ghandi

You can get plenty of fraud done in a place like India, if you have the baksheesh.

I loved the dry humor and puns in the QFG series. Shame it kind of went downhill after the third. I remember the graphics at the time from 2 - 3 was an amazing improvement. The concept of saving your character at the end of the game and starting the next one with it was huge to me.

its possible. people on low calorie diets age slower. there are people with a genetic predisposition for living a long life. he probably maintains an active lifestyle. and there are 7 billion people on the planet so you would expect the occasional genetic/statistical anomaly.

not LIKELY, but possible.

The certificate says 1872, but not that it was issued in 1872. In most of these impoverished areas efforts at modernization and registration began in the 20th century and they pretty much just asked people, "when were you born?" and took their word for it, issuing a birth certificate with whatever birthday they were told.
