Asshat.

King has compared immigrants to animals more than once, including the time he suggested an electrified border fence because "we do this with livestock all the time."

Protip: humans are animals.

The Steve King Immigrant Outreach Program continues apace?

Lulz.

What's next on the GOP Unintentional Comedy Channel?

"Lois Gohmert Mansplains Why Broads Need to Vote GOP"?

The New Paul Ryan sit-com "Do You Even Lift, Bro?"?

*popcorn*

KING: I said that speech was about the vigor of legal immigration. It was a very complimentary speech and no I did not do that.

Rep. King (Mainstream Republican) is just saying what All Republicans really believe. While I believe Rep. King (like All Republicans) is a complete waste of skin, at least he has the courage (unlike All other Republicans) to say what All Republicans really believe about everyone who isn't white.

You mean like Representatives who seem to forget that people have memories that last longer than the proverbial goldfish's? Yeah, that's an issue we might want to touch upon.

At this point, it's unconscionable--as in the sense that one would have to be without conscious thought and ruled only by a high functioning brain stem that controlled autonomous functions and occasionally punctuated behaviors with Tourette's like speech firing--to NOT realize that the Internet preserves pretty much EVERYTHING you say for the world to see again and again if you are even slightly in the public eye. Which is perhaps Sarah Palin's greatest failing, despite having a degree in Communications, is that she fails to understand that if you are on tape, you are actually preserving the words that come out of your own mouth. Mitt Romney failed this particular test as well.*

That folks who are constantly in the limelight--and are in fact, seeking it out, and appearing on camera and on record all the time in the vast reality show that IS our government, with much higher stakes and prizes--one might expect that they would remember that it's not just THIS moment that is recorded and sent out to the "faithful" but likewise the position that they held last week, last year, and even that pesky speech that they gave back in college that made the paper. It is not something new. This isn't some odd feature that arose while they were sleeping, and somehow weren't aware of. It is a symptom of contempt for their own constituents and supporters, as well as the rest of the public, and THAT is really the issue. And that should be an outrage. Contempt for the public IS at the heart of the issue.

Or would you say that if your government holds you in contempt, that is just peachy?

*Though in his defense, as Schrodinger's Candidate, he DID exist in Political Simultaneous Superposition, so it was less a feature that he was unaware of the existence of such records, but rather WHICH reality his consciousness was projecting into. In another universe, his victory speech, I am sure, was fabulous and punctuated with hilarious jokes that had the folks at MSNBC weeping for joy that their savior had come. Of course, that is probably the one that he arm wrestled Obama to the floor during the debates, and kicked off his campaign with downing beers with the guys after splitting a few cord of wood, and televising him killing bears with Putin, while Saint Sarah did a pole dance. It IS a particularly odd universe, but I'm sure that it's one that he enjoys sending his vast intellect into, and it's not that he's a distant human, merely split along the multiplicities of realities. When one has to pay attention to trillions of dollars worth of transactions, across myriad worlds, the little touches that might seem "human" are sometimes luxuries that God Kings cannot afford. That he even paid any attention to this one, we should be lucky to have him smirk to the camera. At that particular moment, I'm sure that he had other things to contend with, like prying Scarlet Johansson off his knob, in Constant Political Blowjob Universe, or finally putting a torch to the EPA's headquarters, or being Crowned Queen of the May in Sex Change Pagent Universe #47--let's face it, he can't win such an award in ALL the universes, so you have to pick the moments you focus on...

So Sarah Palin was just complimenting herself instead of making a stupid joke? My mind is blown and I can now see forever.

The district he represents is still 98.5% white.

Note Iowa had to go from five districts to four, and now his current district does not just represent a vertical stripe of just the western part of Iowa.

/It means he can't be quite as craaazy, although he is safe for now.

King's record:
2002
62%-38%
2004
63%-37%
 2006
59%-36%
2008
60%-37%.
2010
66%-32%
[New district against Tom Vilsack's wife]
2012
53%-45%

He can't be as crazy as he used to be.

I must be exhausting to constantly find ways to defend GOP assholery these past few years.

Or are you just THAT guy? The one who likes to make obvious comments that contribute nothing to the conversation? Statements that generally tend to start with, "Well, technically..."

Pro-pro tip: Not all animals are livestock.

We had this whole war, ironically named Civil, over the fact the human beings cannot be considered livestock.

How is it I keep getting these almost uncontrollable urges to hit this type of person
in the face with a large manure shovel? Repeatedly? While screaming curses that
would slightly unsettle a Marine?

It's so bothersome.

This is why German has "Backpfeifengesicht" as a word. Well, that and "schadenfreude."

The Germans embrace their desire to see misery and pain and only apologize for it after a devastating war or two...

And when I compared Steve King to a stinking pile of shiat, i only meant that they were both stuffed full of corn.

If he complains, I assume its because he doesn't care for corn.

The story is that he was asked about it on Univision recently and he doubled down.
