Sounds exactly the same as every other Sevendust song.

i was gonna say "in before the haters" but  I see that didn't take long...

Sevendust is good groove music and awesome to listen to on long road trips.
I dig their musical style.  Hella good live show to boot.

I like Sevendust. Always have.

Love me some Sevendust. Lajon has a great voice and I love the fact that he's willing to use it rather than scream. And that first album will always be part of my youth.

Saw them live a few years ago and - unsurprisingly given how they got signed - they brought the house down. One of the better live shows I've seen.

Adolf Oliver Nipples: These guys should have been much bigger than they were. They have such a good sound.

The problem (in my opinion) is that although they produce consistent quality, many of the tracks start sounding similar to each other after a while (across their entire collection). I wish they would have taken the opportunity to evolve with every album, as opposed to refining one style of sound over and over. Still, there's quite a few tracks of theirs I enjoy, and I consider them quality musicians overall.

I disagree.  They've kept up a signature style while playing everything from heavy metal, to light rock, and covering the spectrum in between through their various albums and songs.  I wasn't a big fan of the non-Clint Lowrey years personally, and was happy when he returned.

Personally I'll never understand how them or God Forbid never made it bigger.

I think these guys played with Metallica on the Dec 31, 1999 show.  Not sure, and the only band I could actually make out acoustically was Metallica, even though Nuge, Kid Rock, and Sevendust were all on the ticket.  Never really paid attention to them.  Might have to look into them now.

They used to called crawl space. I was present when they changed the name. I wish I could remember the other choices but I finally understand that whole if you remember the 60s you weren't there thing. Don't remember the 90s. But I was probably wearing a choker.

Saw them at the Carnival of Madness tour a few years back during an ungodly hot day.  They played a minuscule 20 minute set, which was disappointing because they were my favorite band there. I never understood why they weren't bigger, either, but as long as they continue to rock my face I'll get over it.

I have loved Sevendust ever since "Terminator" came screaming across the radio many years ago...

Well, afaik, the shoe fits.   And it's a shame too, because Lajon has one of the absolute best voices going... it's just backed by rather formulaic, somewhat repetitive music.

/maybe they've changed their sound up a bit, it's been years since I heard anything from them admittedly.... Prodigal Son was the last tune I'd heard.

I saw Sevendust a few years ago when they were opening for Black Label Society at the House of Blues Las Vegas.

I might have enjoyed it if I didn't hate nu-metal.  I spent their setlist over at the bar having a few beers instead of paying attention to them.

2013-07-21 09:12:01 PM
Sevendust is awesome. I've got all of their albums except for their first two and Next.

They have a lot of songs that are just that kind of no-nonsense, don't-fark-around boosters. The kind of songs you'd expect to be background music for really well-made action sequences.

2013-07-21 09:32:42 PM
Sure, I understand the vocals. I just don't understand Sevendust.

Having played Bowling Green AND Glasgow, both GREAT towns for music, I would love to be/play at that show. Too bad I live around 6 hours away. :(

I've seen them three or four times and the first two were great, but the third time they were touring with the Carnival of Madness and played an area that was just too big for them. The fourth time....was just kinda meh to me. Something just didn't click. I would go see them again though. They are super nice guys and are willing to hang out with the fans after the show.

I agree that they should've been bigger. I heard them joke about them being the stepping stones for bigger bands: Tour with Sevendust and then get HUGE! I liked the direction they were going with Home and Animosity and wished they kept going with that. Although they have always been consistently good. Even when Clint left and they had Sonny, they were still awesome. Anyways....Sevendust is good stuff.

My very first concert was these guys opening for Coal Chamber in Odessa TX when I was 14 years old. It was amazing but they have gone  down a very different direction from when they started.  I wish they had stuck to the metal roots, they could have been the next Pantera. I don't blame them though, go for the money, it would be nice if they did another album aimed at the old school stuff. I still bump the first album in my truck on occasion.  Also I am drunk so feel free to hit me up on grammar and such. I'm going to listen to the first album and have a few more drinks, thanks subby.

Agreed, while they're not my usual flavor of music, I like Lajon's voice, but most tracks from them ended up blending together for me too, and I kept waiting to hear something different. I still think my favorite tune of theirs is the first one I ever heard:

since we're now green lighting radio rock bands does that mean Creed will be next weeks selection? Because if so, I vote for the one where the singer is shirtless, you know the one with the really long masturbatory guitar solo with all the doves flying around.

Good song. My buddy is friends with the bands, so I've managed to see them three times this year alone. Hung out with the band a few times. Lajon (lead singer) is a helluva nice guy, far shorter than he looks on stage. And the drummer (the screamer) might be one of the nicest dudes I've ever met period.

Love these guys. They were here in my little burg back in February with Lacuna Coil. But since this town is a musical black hole(unless it's country), the concert was never advertised on the radio or tv and I didn't find out about it until two days beforehand. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go, but did find a handful of vids posted on YouTube. Looks like I missed a pretty good concert.

Only in scope. A stupid generalization is a stupid generalization. Either way it all boils down to "Wah, stop liking what I don't like! I'm the one that gets to decide and categorize things for everyone else!"

So if you went to the grocery store, and were perusing the bread aisle, and all that lined the shelves was mustard and toilet paper, it's all good right?

because accurate labels are stupid and pointless and shiat.  THAT stockboy needs and deserves to put his individuality and thoughts and ideas into employ....
