i noticed during that scene when arya's running away you hear the sound of metal swords hitting the floor, and not the wooden one syrio had, but i'm not sticking around here for the spoilerers.

I haven't watched season three yet, and I watched this anyway. I figure they're all going to die and the piss boy gets the iron throne. I treat this video as a preview for season three.

iirc, Martin said " when we last saw him, he was in a hopeless situation. Have you seen me help anyone in those situations so far?"

This was nice, and although he is much hated in Farkdom, this needed Hardwick and the "In Memorium" music from "Talking Dead".

How was it hopeless? He was a dancing master, and one of the best swordsmen in the world. He took down everyone except the last guy, who was wearing heavy armor, and would have been much slower. He could probably have easily dodged out of the way and escaped, or else grabbed one of the real swords that the guys he killed had dropped.

Lots of options, unless he decided he wanted to die. More likely he helped Arya get away, and then grabbed his advance payment, and got the hell out of there.

Or, for example, for all we know, Jaqen H'ghar is the same person as the dancing master, which is why he suddenly appeared being dragged North to the wall, so he could keep an eye on Arya.

Or he killed the knight and assumed his identity.

Not a spoiler, but, My theory is Syrio was Jauquin (sp) and is steering Aryanna down a path. There is no mention or alluding to it in the books. It's just a theory. I think/hope she is destined for big things. I have a bad feeling she will either die or fade away. I think it will boil down to 3 dragon riders. Danny, Jon Snow (who will end up being Danny's nephew/husband) and Tyrion v.s. a rejuvenated Cerci.

Either way, after this next season, at least the body count slows.

Remember when Arya was serving Tywin Lannister and they had a conversation in which Arya goes on and on about the Targaryan dragon riders?  Also Arya named her wolf Nymeria after one of the Targaryan dragon riders.  That might be foreshadowing. (fingers crossed)

It's not the worst name....but I can't say much.  Both of our children are named for characters in books (although they are very, very, very common and easy-to-spell names).

Nope 3 years. I just checked the article, and it's about the tv series. The tv series started about 3 years ago. You might be confusing this with the book. Did you think the article was about the book?

I figured it was about the asoiaf universe, which has been around for 17 years. My mistake if it is about something else entirely I went based on the mention of Westeros which is where the series takes place.

(spoilers) Yes. At the end of season (and I'm assuming book) 2, the fat dude came across white walkers who could have easily killed him, and they just walked on by. And then in the season 3 he ends up killing one by accident/luck.

You mean like the entire book series?

*SPOILERS maybe*

Like how everyone interesting ends up dead? I can handle important character death. But every freaking person dies. I would like to internet thank a buddy for convincing me to stop at book 2. Half way through book 2.

She was also pretty much farked when Biter was eating her face...

And when she was dangling at the end of a rope...

And yet, she's somehow managed to go cavorting in the automn leaves with Jamie.

Syrio could have a way out. Jon Snow might get that treatment.  Brienne too. Benjen Stark might even show up again.

As for the truly dead, Yoren deserved better.  Especially in that tribute.

Doesn't really work. Brianne never made an oath to Robb's wife and that is a pretty important part of the storyline.

They won't, ever.  Some people view being semi-literate as a novelty, worthy of note, and will rape your adapted television shows in front of you.  Then they'll take the moral high ground while condescending to you.  It's a form of hostility that is widespread on the internet, only because you can't chuck a beer can at someone's head on the internet.

Would've gone with "I Will Remember You," but "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye to Yesterday" works too.

At the risk of being pedantic, some of them died in Essos.

Just saying.
