Seriously, who is that guy supposed to be?  It's the four original X-Men, Professor X and one guy in a ghost costume?  What the hell?

Thanks for reposting some of the ones that will be showing up in my nightmares tonight.

And yeah, I figured out that was Iceman, but since when was "The Blob" in the X-men?
Also fFat people: just because you CAN cosplay, doesn't mean you should....unless you are playing a fat character.

Some of those costumes showed very nice work, attention to detail, etc.  Some need a bit more work.  Some look like they were bought at Goodwill or found in the back of a closet.  Many showed inspiration.  A few look like somebody lost a bet.

Looks like a lot of the folks from the last gallery made this one too.

That's usually how it goes; like any other hobby, really.  Some people put loads of time, energy, and money into it, trying to get everything just right, and others do it for a laugh or just throw something together at the last minute.  As long as everyone is having fun.

When I was a kid, model trains were really popular.  I had one neighbor who built this massive set up, with detailed miniature trees and buildings, mountains with tunnels through them, etc.  His dad probably spent a couple thousand dollars on it (in 1970s dollars).  Another guy I knew had a plywood table with some tracks stapled to it, with a building made of an empty shoe box with "RR Station" written on it in in sharpie.  They both seemed to enjoy their sets equally.

Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite.

Ah, thanks, I haven't played it yet, and I've only seen her in the corset outfit, like the other two in the article. Cheers.

/I really hope the various Bioshock Elizabeths were following someone around tossing useful things at them.

Arthur from the tick was my favorite.  And seriously, is that Adam West?  If not, holy crap it's his exact double.

Some of those costumes took real effort to pull off.
I really like Bilbo Baggins riding the pony.

Was a little surprised there were no Jedi, are they that passe now that people don't even do them any more?

That's a surprising number of cosplayers for a show that hasn't even premiered yet. Paid models, maybe?

Considering the quality and consistency of the costumes, I'd say paid model is pretty likely.

That was one of my favorites. Some of the costumes were amazing a few were great then had one terrible accessory that kind of ruined it.

The Navy, in its infinite wisdom, would schedule ship trials out of SD naval Base during SDCC weeks in the past few years. On one hand, it was a nightmare trying to find a hotel room, but on the plus side, I'd get to visit ComicCon on the Navy's dime, which was sweet. They finally wised up this year (moved the LCS-3 trial to August)

The problem is that they're the original X-Men. That era's Iceman was quite literally a walking snowman. He'd look a lot more the part if he'd glued a few hundred thousand cotton balls on his body.

Probably convention center rules. Plus, would you REALLY want to go barefoot? I know there was one other photo of a girl barefoot, but I'm willing to bet she took her shoes or whatever off for the shot and put them right back on.

People biatch if it's a slideshow, then biatch when it's not a slide show. We need to have a group vote and decide which one we want
