The only presidents that haven't been the subject of calls for impeachment in the last 40 years have served only one term.

2013-07-20 11:16:11 AM
So, a coup? Good luck with that.

2013-07-20 11:19:16 AM
We could just ignore him...

Rememer when Alan Keyes was the craziest person in the Republican Party?  He's not even in the top 10 now.

Starting?  I'd argue it's been this way since...2010.    It's very tiring.

Impeachment must be the centerpiece of the 2014 elections - and candidates for both houses must sign a pledge to impeach!

Oh yes, please proceed with that.

Boehner must be dumped as Speaker and replaced with the next president of the United States, whoever that may be, chosen by the House - the 'people's chamber'!

I can't wait to see how they manage that one. Is the Long Island Medium available?

So Remove Boehner and replace him with the next president, okay but if your first step is impeaching Obama that means Biden would be the next president and the Speaker of the House. Cool

Their national health policy's violation of the free exercise of religion with respect to the practice of abortion;

So, in order to preserve religious freedom, we must establish a nation-wide abortion policy that conforms to the views of conservative Christians?

BRILLIANT!!

To say Keyes has lost his mind assumes that he had one in the first place.

Oh, I think 2014 is going to be a glorious year to watch the GOP consume itself.

Now, is the House usually referred as the People's Chamber or does he only consider things controlled by republicans to be the voice of the people?

Yeah, That made my spleen bleed. Then I read this:

"Their social policy's enforced acceptance of homosexual marriage, disparaging and denying the God-endowed rights of the natural family, which the Constitution's 9th Amendment plainly forbids;"

What a mental shiat stain this guys is. Not going to read any further for fear of my sanity.

Sounds like riots to me. Break out the K9s, tear gas, and beanbag shotguns.

With as much as the GOP loves gun nuts and gun nuts love the GOP, it almost feels like that's what they secretly hope will happen.

blastoh: Oh, I think 2014 is going to be a glorious year to watch the GOP consume itself.

If only. There are far too many crazies, far too much gerrymandering, and far too much apathy from Democrat voters in non-presidential election years. The GOP will probably GAIN seats across the board.

I saw a group like that in early 2009.  There probably was one out there somewhere before McCain made his concession speech.

In which a man who has at one point been seriously considered for the Presidency displays ignorance of basic government functions. We'd either have President Biden, which is not up for debate by the House, or if Biden is impeached as well, the next in line is the Speaker of the House. Which in Keyes' scenario would end in President Cantor.

He covers that - he has Biden impeached before impeaching Obama.  Not sure how, since the list of alleged impeachable acts does not include anything that Biden would have been involved with.  That's not to say that any other part of the plan makes any sense either.

Not to mention that an impeachment is only the first step.  He's going to need the Senate to go along with the plan as well.

...okay, reading down further, Keyes calls for Biden to get impeached first just so that he doesn't delay proceedings, followed by impeaching Obama.

He then calls for the House to elect a Speaker that is not a member of the House of Representatives and make that guy President.

Keyes is basically calling for a redux of the Gerald Ford ascendancy, but turned up to eleven. A President that nobody voted for to hold any office. An... emergency manager, shall we say.

Yeah, the 9th amendment thing made me want to quit, but him basically wanting to stage a "constitutional coup" with a series of impeachment and removals was super funny.

But semicolons? That is the last damned straw.

First:  Need to win the Senate

Second:  Need more damning facts from the scandals involving Benghazi, the IRS and Fast & Furious.  Because of Eric Withholder and the Injustice Department, that will take TIME.  After all, Withholder has already been held in contempt for lying under oath.

Impeachment should begin by targeting Withholder.  Then Obama?  Yeah... maybe.
