greatest rock trio of all time

They put the Police on a stamp? Why would Canada do that?

Rush played the Quebec City Festival last week and had to cut their set short owed to big storms. Today they have posted a stream recorded the next night in Halifax.

Now you can send your messages to the Subdivisions without fearing your postage will be cast out!

That would inspire me to actually use snail mail again.

Don't be so hot blooded, my friend.  Insulting Rush is cold as ice.  Hell, I'm getting double vision just from thinking about it.  I might send over a dirty white boy, a real head knocker, to kick your butt.  Then, your dreams of being a jukebox hero will all be over, and you will never know what love is.  Even if you have been beat up before, it'll feel like the first time.  Seriously, my warning is urgent.

My favorite Jimi Hendrix Experience song has sort of a noodly jam-bandy feel.

My personal reply to that would be...

When you know the instructions, the basic stuff can be quite boring.

/plenty of stuff I don't know the instructions for and am satisfied by the basic

Smelly McUgly: Does Neal Peart stand alone?

I'd love Amazon to work out the sales increase for Rush following the episodes where Krieger talks about Rush. I've got to say, in the UK they never made much of an impact and it did make me see what YYZ (it's "zed") sounded like. I thought it was cool, but not enough to buy it, but I'm sure some people did.

I don't usually listen to rock music of that era, but I actually learned about YYZ (IT'S "ZED!") from Guitar Hero and Tom Sawyer from All-Pro Football 2K8, which is nice because now I can understand Krieger's love of Rush.

I actually really like YYZ. It's probably the only prog rock song that I have ever downloaded and put on my phone.

And marble mouth singing coupled with grade school guitar playing and banal lyrics isn't an acquired taste?

I'm a huge Rush fan so i think this is an appropriate honor.  However, to do it right, it would take 5-6 stamps just to get all of Peart's kit pictured.

How did it get so high?
I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy?

I just don't like Rush.  I don't care much for prog rock, either.  In fact, I don't think technical proficiency counts for as much as soul does in music.

Which makes us all wonder, what the hell am I doing in a Fark music thread?

Gordon Bennett: The greatest rock trip of all time is The Beatles.

You derped, twice.
Ringo has more talent in his toenail clippings than John had in his whole everything, John was a confrontational fart knocker more attuned to the present day with our shallow obsession with rampant self-promotion over substance.
Ok, sure, he wrote Working Class Hero... Ringo could've done that in his sleep but he was too busy being the enigma that is Ringo.

Rush is far away from noodling prog rock. It is more complicated than your usual pop or rock fare, but from there to noodling is quite a ways to go.
