nytmare: I saw a goose shed a feather on a walkway the other day. I fined it for littering. I got hissed at, so I fined it for disturbing the peace. Then it shiat on my car so I fined it for vandalism. Then it bit me so I fined it for attempted murder.

I stepped in goose poo the other day and left a big mess on the ground and my shoes. The geese fined me for infringing their copyright by creating an unlicensed derivative work.

Look lady... you wouldn't groom your dogs at home, put the hair in a bag, take it to the park and dump it in the ground

Pay the fine and stop throwing your farking garbage around.

Fark_Guy_Rob: jtown: ReapTheChaos: Littering is littering, how is dog hair any different than food wrappers or soda cans? Those kind of dogs have particularly thick coats and with the "heat wave" they're having there I'm sure they were shedding quite a bit. What I find particularly hilarious is how she says she always picks up litter when she's at the park yet shes shocked that it wasn't ok to just leave a pile of her precious dogs hair lying on the ground.

Aside from being a natural substance rather than man-made, birds often use hair for nesting material.  Why do cops hate birds?

There is nothing natural about our pets.

The number of, and types of, dogs we keep as pets are not naturally sustainable.  Without people purchasing them, providing for them, and raising them as pets - these dogs would never exist in such numbers.  The amount of land and wildlife required to keep a wild dog alive is far more than we could allocated to each dog, particularly in population dense areas like cities.  In rural Iowa - sure - let your dog crap in the middle of your 10 acres of land.  It can crap for an entire lifetime and you'll never have a problem.

But open a park in the middle of New York, or London....and suddenly you've got a park the size of a city block that has 200 dogs pooping in it, each day.  That's not natural.

Yes, dogs shed.  Their coats and shedding habits were the result of evolution, until people got involved.  Now we buy whatever dog is 'pretty'.  That dog was meant to live in places like Siberia (no seriously, that's where the Siberian Huskie comes from) - but it is pretty, so let's have it in the UK!  So the AMOUNT of shedding that dog will do is hardly natural.

So you've got an unnatural population density of dogs that are unnaturally suited for their environment.  I find it hard to buy the, 'But it is natural' argument.

And even if I did - so what?  Being natural isn't justification.  Violence is natural.  Sex is natural.  Nudity is natural....none of these things are widely accepted by modern societies, certainly not in public parks.

Giant clumps of dog hair *is* litter.  And she left them *in a public park*.  That makes her guilty of littering.

If everyone that went to the park left behind that amount of liter the park would be trashed in a few weeks.

Save your breath. You can't argue with stupid.

Other than the fact that loose hair from brushing a dog is not a problem.  Enforcing rules to control behavior that isn't actually causing problems just wastes time and degrades quality of life.

Have you ever owned a long hair dog like a shepherd? I don't think they fined her for a few lose hairs, when you brush a dog like that while it's shedding it comes off in giant gobs. Add to that the high heat they're experiencing over there right now and it probably looked something like this:

CSB-  I was driving down the road tossing peanut shells out the window of the car. A fellow driver called the police on me for hugging the center line. He assumed I was drinking. Soon came a cop and pulled me over. While he's running my plates, etc... I continue on eating my peanuts and the shells were beginning to pile up outside the window. He asked if I had been drinking and I said no. He told me what the safety conscious driver told him about me hugging the line and I said I would be more aware. He said he could cite me for the shells on the street too. Offensive Littering he called it. I asked him if he wanted me to pick them up and he said no. I left with only a warning or improper lane use.

Yeah, there's a smart argument. How do you feel about tossing an apple core under an apple tree?

I have no idea what this has to do with what I said... but it's littering.

Don't ever visit Gettysburg National Park. There are so many half-decayed apples lying around everywhere that you'll be outraged. Thousands and thousands of them.
